Karine Hains: Toronto vs. Montreal Take 2 The Canadiens managed to look much better tonight than they did in Toronto on Saturday and ended up winning 5-2, even though the Leafs dominated in the shot column.

tks Karine.
are you sure it's upper-body for Caufield?

yeah, that was a bit odd, but I think the injury occurred prior to that and not during warm-up

Leafs have yet to score on a goalie that will be on a NHL roster this year.

Norlinder did not look bad, Guhle just really looked solid. Both are going to be NHL level D-men.

Nice to see improvement, better flow, better defence. Preseason games.....just keep getting better, fixing what needs fixing.

Oh FFS.
Its pre season.
I wonder why Montreal seemed improved....maybe they had more NHL'ers while the leafs had less.....usually what happens. Home team plays more of their NHL roster, road team does not. Gotta give the fans something.

no, we need to be super mad about it and make fun of people who have anything positive to say about these meaningless games.

Almost the complete opposite of the first game where Toronto dressed a much more complete roster.

I guess what we're enjoying right now is that, unlike the first game, there were some bright spots with young players trying to make the team. So there's your improvement.

- Guhle is impressive, no doubt about that. He'll be in the NHL soon enough.
- Norlinder still has ways to go but I do love the puck movement he brings.
- Drouin-Dvorak-Anderson looks like a solid line. Lots of chemistry for a first game together.

Hopefully we see more young guys separating themselves from the pack in the next few days and make some decisions difficult.

I was expecting more than one cut this morning...

They have back-to-back games friday/saturday.

I expect most of the cuts to be made afterwards. We'll see what's close to the full roster for the last 2 preseason games.

maybe so, I just hope they don't rush him. I think he'll be captain of his team, and possibly captain for Team Canada, so that can only be some very good experience for him.

Sami Niku is a dman the Jets did not re-sign, I doubt we see him very often in a habs jersey...

2 years ago he looked like a really strong prospect. Didn't seem to see eye to eye with the Jets. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

hmm, 16g and 38A in the AHL in 2017-18, perhaps he could find his groove back with the Rocket, who knows...
