For 750,000 might as well, as long as the expectations are realistic why not?

Too bad about Stalock. He could have taken over the #1 job and led them to the Cup.

Dubnyk is a downgrade. Why not just sign Jimmy Howard? There is of course a far more obvious answer...

Oilers roll with Smith and Koskinen. If it's not working, they can explore trade options. Columbus likely trades UFA Korpisalo during the season. Wings likely move Greiss by the deadline as a UFA rental. Numerous better options than Dubynk. Unless they know Smith or Koskinen are hurt there is no way Dubynk joins.

EK this makes so much sense. May as well have all the duds and has beens on the same team. Jimmy Holland has lost his marbles, such a talented team and he can not see that a goalie is so important and old timers like Duncan Keith are not what they used to be. He is living in the past.

No one else is paying him to play hockey, and Bakersfield is a pretty alright place to spend a winter

Dubnyk was good for a long time for the Wild. Much of that was due to having solid defensemen behind him. Now you can count on him to let in at least one bad goal a game and 2 when he’s on a roll. I doubt Holland wants to stake his opponent to 1-0 and 2-0 to see if Conor and Leon can catch up.

The Oilers surely want Skinner and this Russian kid Konovalov to get reps in the AHL. Not washed up Dubnyk. Again, only possible way is if they know Smith or Koskinen are hurt, and bring in Dubynk until they find a legit replacement. This source might not really understand the Oilers situation.

I don't know, the Oilers as an organization are pretty reluctant to eat their own poop and bringing back Dubnyk would be a big ol plate of the stuff steaming at their dinner table. If they can get past that though and get it done it would be a bit of reassurance, though his best years are behind him. He did some great workplace safety ads during his first stint that would be nice to see resurrected or sequelled.

Doesnt take that big of a leap to assume that a team with injured goalies would call Dubnyk. He is the last legit goalie UFA that was once a regular starter

I hope to hear Mike Augello say 'Sammy Niku' a few more times before 'Sammy Niku' is out of the league...

A goalie mask sounds cooler than an Amazon gift card. I don't even use Amazon.
