Carol Schram: Podkolzin & Klimovich on their way to Vancouver, Canucks at the Olympics With preseason activities bumped back a bit this year, Canucks prospects Vasily Podkolzin and Danila Klimovich are finally on their way to North American for their first NHL camps. And with the Olympics finally approved for NHL players, here's a look at which Canucks players could be in the mix for Beijing.

Thanks Carol, I think Pettersson is the most likely to contribute to the Olympic roster, at least in a significant way.

Thanks Carol. Even though they're both centres, I think it would be neat to see MacKinnon and McDavid on the same line. The speed would be amazing.

Yeah, it's funny. Even though I've covered them both a couple of times at World Championships, they've never been there at the same time.

MacKinnon played in the 2015 and 2017 teams (and 2014, before my time); Connor was on 2016 and 2018.

I think the only time they have ever played together was those three glorious games on Team North America.

You piqued my curiosity enough to revisit the Team North America roster. I forgot JT Miller was on that squad. Most of the notable grads are impact players in this Olympics.

I seen Dave Pagnotta say Mtl matched but has since has been taken down.

The Canadiens will not match the Hurricanes' offer sheet to Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Montreal will receive Carolina's 1st- and 3rd-round 2022 Draft picks as compensation.

And Suzuki's an RFA next year and is repped by the same agency as Kotkaniemi

AND his brother Ryan Suzuki is a Carolina first-round pick. This may just be the beginning...

Since the Habs didn't sound super confident about KK playing 2C this year anyway, it would make sense for them to now try to package those picks and turn them into immediate help. The Christian Dvorak thing makes sense. Not sure Eichel does, because of the money and because even in the best-case scenario, he won't be ready to play for a bit.

Personally, I'd enjoy another round next summer.

Student move in day here at UBC. Absolute chaos. Can young adults do anything for themselves anymore? My god, I’ve seen less hand-holding on the first day of kindergarten.

I have read a lot of talk about Dvorak to the Habs. Makes the most sense . I do wonder if Canes are finished screwing with Mtl for what they did with Aho. KK is a small message but Suzuki next year would hit them hard below the belt.

I think Eichel to the Habs makes the most sense but the return would kill the trade. EP still a possibility to OS him but then Bergevin would have two pissed of GMs
