I think it would be great to have Larkin center Vrana and Zadina. Either way whether it is first or second line for Vrana and Zadina I think they need to be together. Bertuzzi could play second line and first line pp.

I really like the idea too. All three can skate, and I think Zadina would benefit from working with Vrana. Thanks for chiming in with that.

I wanted to get him, for sure. I even had an article title I was going to reuse:

Detroit Brock City? Boeser late than never..

No problem Jeremy, I have a vested interest in Vrana, Zadina, Suter, Stetcher and Velano. I drafted Vrana and Zadina and am still waiting to get paid, lol Those Boeser rumors won't go away and I do think he will end up back in Minnesota one day. The thing about Zadina is he needs to be put in a position to succeed and get the confidence growing. He has the talent but now needs his mental game to grow and that happens with confidence of playing with guys like Larkin and Vrana. I can not wait to see those guys together, all skilled speed demons. Go Red Wings !!

Going with what is on the current roster, I'd experiment with Erne on the second line. The reason is for some grit. Suter, Fabbri and Zadina are smallish forwards that might get knocked around a bit too much. Granted, they're all fast.

Erne adds an element of grit that a line like that needs on occasion. He's the guy in the corners battling for the puck and the guy in front of the net that screens the goalie.

I realize Bertuzzi plays that role on the first line, but that's why Erne would be a good random substitute. Look how well Abdelkader played with Zetterberg and Datsyuk.

Erne would also give the Wings the ability to switch things up during the game. The first two lines would be Larkin, Bert and Vrana and Suter, Zadina and Fabbri/Erne.

Suter, Vrana and Zadina would be fun to watch for high skill level, although a bit smallish.

Vrana's size is not an issue, Zadina is 6 foot 200 pounds and not small. Suter has to be used wisely because his size is an issue as witnessed in Chicago. Skill player that excels on pp. I think Erne is better suited for third line but I do get you point adding a little more toughness. That being said three speed demons with the puck are hard to stop so I am hoping to see Larkin between Vrana and Zadina.

While doing this exercise, it is nice to see there are better and more varied options this year in the top 6!

Zadina is a lot tougher than I gave him credit for. Something happened before last season and he infused a lot of pee and vinegar into his game. I thought he’d be a softer touch, ,but he has really stepped it up. Larkin is borderline fearless and Vrana for sure isn’t “soft” by any means. for power play net front, Erne is a good option. I worry about him skating with that line. It doesn’t get as much press as it used to, but Larkin is really fast. Vrana can keep pace with him and Zadina looks like he can as well. That’s a lot of skating

I am really trying to wrap my head around Carolina’s ownership and management. The let one of the best defensemen walk away out of cheapness, lost Ned because he wanted “too much money”, and then offer sheet a center that they don’t really need. If this is really to get back at Montreal over Aho, i guess that’s fine. But a twenty dollar signing bonus is an embarrassment

Have to think any deal for eichel starts with either Raymond or seider and a 1st. Even taking on those anchor contracts, there is no way the sabres are taking second tier pieces
