With the Lightning's track record it would not surprise me if one of these later round draft picks turns into a good NHL player. I like Gage Concalves and Cole Koepke as the next potential Cruncher to everyday Bolt NHLer from this lot. I also like Hugo the goalie and will be interesting to see his development. Finley is still young and raw so he will take longer but has size and potential. Not sure about any of the D prospects. I think the NCAA Perbix has the best shot.

TB is 18 million over the cap? Hmmm....I guess they will try again and circumvent the cap by getting a big ticket guy on LTIR the whole year. Since #86 did it last year my guess is #91 is next in line.

oh please, the lightning didn't cheat, and they basically had a flawless roster (which I really hate to admit lol) but don't pretend like they didn't seriously take advantage of that loophole. according to what was reported everything was legit but you have to admit it's quite the coincidence that Doucherov was ready precisely for game #1 of the playoffs, with Brisebois saying "sometimes the stars align" lol...

Bolts going for a three-peat! I'm in, that was so fun to watch the last couple years. Looking forward to the boys raising the Cup again!
Go Bolts!!!

Sadly though, it might be their last hurrah, before needing to seriously re-tool. That roster is aging out.

lol, the point is the suspicion is 100% warranted when you consider how it all played out in such a timely manner, even as a fan you should be able to acknowledge this.

I acknowledge that they did not cheat. You acknowledged that they did not cheat. That is all that needs to be said. All the other stuff is just pettiness, every team could have done the same and use the system to their advantage, that is the nature of sports use every advantage you can get legally and the Lightning did just that. No asterisk, no suspicion, they were within the rules as written and followed by the NHL just like every other team.

meh, if by some miracle Shea Weber missed the regular season but became ready to play just in time for the playoffs, I wouldn't be ashamed to admit there's a possibility his timeline for a return may have been tweaked a little, given the huge coincidence lol

Anyone that watches the Lightning could see when Kuch returned, he wasn’t skating at 100%. So maybe he could have pushed to return earlier or maybe he could have returned a few weeks later to give his hip more time to recover.

totally agreed, although the considerable advantage in terms of salary cap could only be gained by having him finish the regular season on LTIR, and even if he wasn't 100% yet you still want that kind of talented player in your lineup to start a playoff series.
