That is a good idea Ben. Both good examples also... As long as it doesn't take away playing time from the kids.

Ducks should just play the kids this season and go from there.

There are still a handful of teams sitting above the cap, so there may be an opportunity to take a contract and a high draft pick from a Tampa Bay or Dallas. I think it's more likely the Ducks would make this kind of move towards the deadline to avoid stealing a year of playing time from one of the kids. There are always teams at the deadline who will fool themselves into thinking they're one player away from being cup contenders, if they could only finagle a little extra cap space.

THAT is when Rakell and Manson should be traded. Not now. I would have added Lindholm but I think we should sign him to an extension.

As far as the extra cap space, I still say Murray wants Eichel and it's a game of chicken between him and Adams to see who blinks first. I have to believe Murray is holding firm on not including Zegras/Drysdale in any trade package, and Adams is adamant he wants one (probably Zegras). Not many teams at all can absorb a 10M salary like the Ducks can.

Agree with both of you on Rakell. I hoping he can have a turn-around season and bring some value back at the trade deadline. Besides, who in their right mind would trade for him now? Rickard's goal production has nose-dived and there aren't too many GM's as stupid as Rob Blake who will massively over-pay for someone who can't score goals. Blake is stealing out of the Barstool Bob playbook!
