Mr Kane seems to wear out his welcome, quickly, everywhere he goes.

People reveal their inside by the way they carry themselves on the outside, it never fails. Trust your gut.

Good luck. Issues from junior on and has never learned or changed. Cant see any team taking a chance on him until he is forced to clean up his act. Till then he is just a cancer to any team and their dressing room.

I'd be shocked if someone like him ever changed. They always talk about knowing it's necessary but nothing ever really changes for very long.

I actively shove people like that out of my life and don't care about the consequences.

And as long as he's filthy rich he'll never have any real motivation to change.

I actually feel sorry for Kane. I think he has addiction and mental health challenges that need to be worked through. I am hopeful for both his and his family’s sake that he seeks out treatment, especially for his gamblings addiction.

he won't change. and his "mental health issues" are most likely because he's a self-centered douche.

there's nothing to 'fix' with people like that. if it works (they have money and status) there's no reason to change because they'll always find new sycophants to feed their egos

It’s unfortunate. Such a good hockey player but has no self control. He is his worst enemy. Feel for his family. If I was him, I’d give myself a good talking to and then get as far away from myself as I could.

Sad for the Sharks too. He has about zero trade value. San Jose will not be getting any 1st round picks/top prospects for a problematic player at that salary, no way unless a good chunk of his cap hit stays in SJ

You never know. I doubted any team would ever give ADA another contract yet a team did.

Lots of people with mental health conditions are described as being selfish and self-centered. I think he definitely fits the criteria for being diagnosed with Borderline Personality or Anti-social personality disorder for sure.

Can't feel that bad for San Jose. They had to know what they were getting.

You have no idea what Kane's mental health issues are, and you have even less of an idea if he'll change or not. Lots of people like Kane or worse have turned their lives around and beat their addictions. Your generalized view on mental health comes off as ignorant.

I think this type of "diagnosis" serves as an excuse for someone simply being an arrogant jerk.

99% of people like that simply need to look in the mirror

So you are the one that diagnosis mental illness?
Interesting. Thankful I don’t have that naive of a doctor jumping to conclusions and diagnosis like you.

You are calling a dude ignorant for saying that a hockey player is arrogant. I hope you are aware of that.

he's admitted he has a "problem" with gambling .. well, lots of super competitive people have the same "problem" which only becomes an "issue" when they start losing a lot and can't afford to pay their bookies. I wonder why it wasn't a problem before that?

life is a lot simpler than most of us want to admit

I think you need to check the definition of diagnosis.
