Possibly the only set where it's harder to find mint Topps versions since Topps had the black over the puck which had to be scratched off to reveal the player.

But I believe that Topps, having fewer cards, does not have rookies for Messier and Gartner. It does have Bourque though.

I did this Pre-Ebay with a set of 84-85 O-Pee-Chee

I picked up about 80% of the set from a local card store buying singles and kept an extra checklist in my wallet. Throughout my travels, every time I saw a card store I'd have to go in just to see if they had any for my set. It was always the 10 cent commons that I was chasing down

Took me about 3 years to finish, but I got it done

Yeah, I've got a graded version of the Bourque Record Breaker that thankfully was left unscratched. Off centre as hell, but unscratched!!!

Does have the Gartner, but no Messier as you said. Anything from card 265 and up from OPC is not in the Topps. So Langway, Marsh and Hartsburgh also absent...

LOVE the 84-85 set! My Gilmour RC, pulled from when I was a kid, is one of my faves in my collection. Great project!
