So if we traded Eichel today would he go get surgery now?
- mrn22

I think that's the 10 million dollar a year question

I wonder what Winnipeg is up to, they are not a match for us trade wise at all, but they are interesting to watch

they only have 9 forwards signed, Copp yet to sign

they acquired Nate Schmidt and Brendan Dillon who make over 9 million a year combined

7 defensemen signed including Heinola, but have yet to sign Pionk and Staley

only 7 mil in cap space but it's actually probably 12 mil in cap space once Little goes on LTIR

what are they doin

That's going to be a weird side effect of this past season. They made the 2nd round, I think they think they are way closer than the actually are. I didn't want any part of him then, and I'm not sure I would now, but you wonder if we could kick the tires on PLD. His trade value has to be in the tank.

Ahhh back from suspension!!

The no Cup winner with a defensemen under six foot is interesting, but definitely not a reason to trade Nils.

Extending Reaves was brilliant, an 8 minute 35yo paperweight. Just what we needed

well they only have 9 forwards signed but have all these defensemen now

I don't think they are looking to deal forwards but probably their excess defensemen

I could see them swapping PLD for Chytil and maybe another roster player (Gaut?). Use the cap savings to go fill out the roster with low cost guys and/or then flipping D. That's probably their best method in general.

I'll take them taking each other out of a game every time we meet the Caps

Hoping it helps players like Fox, Laf and Kakko play more stress free knowing they shouldn't have to worry about players taking runs at them

Seems like every hockey fan outside of the Rangers circle thinks adding Reavo was a good move, so naturally the fan base is split on it

I got no problem with him being brought in. I feel the extension is premature as we don't know how it'll work out but it is what it is

It's pretty clear Gallant has a major say in these moves. I think he will use Reaves more than he was the last year in Vegas

He’s Gallant’s guy. Gives the head coach two years of a locker room stabilizer and someone that knows how the team is going to be managed. Not to mention, this is likely his last couple years in the league. Gives the player something to be a part of.

That call always bothered me.
Late? Sure. But, that's it. Not a head shot. Not a blind side hit. Not charging.
Should have been 2 minutes. And Wilson gets off light most times he does that sort of thing.

I’d put Kakko and Laf in a class below Mathews at the time of the draft but I think Wright is in Mathews territory.

The real time to suck is the following year, when Connor Bedard and Matvei Michkov are available
