The Senators are In a rebuild and Dorion has done a great job thus far, How does Monahan help Ottawa? He's VERY over valued. |

The org seems to want Pinto to have a year in the AHL, similar to that of Norris before having him be a fulltime NHLer. Monahan would be a possible fit as they need a center that can produce and be in their top 6. |

I still don’t get the Dadonov move. It was an overpaid contract, but now they need another RW, and they’ll either give more assets than they got for Dadonov, or overpay someone again. He had two years left, it wasn’t going to mess with the core winning years, AND you sold as low as it goes.
As for Center, they have to bring someone in. I like Monahan personally, but I wouldn’t swing any bigger than that. |

They did sell low on Dadonov but it didnt cost them anything to get him either, so at least they got a capable D-Man and a draft pick in return while shedding his salary. I think DJ Smith was really in Dorion's ear as it was clear Dadonov didn't play the way he wants his team too. Hence the 4th line minutes to end the season.
As for Center, they won't bring anyone in that has more than 2 years left on their deal unless the team they are dealing with takes on some of the salary, IE the possible Henrique deal. |

Trading for Hertl would be amazing, better than Eichel. And if we can switch Tierney for Henrique, would be great I think While would be the center push to RW
Stutzle - Hertl - White
Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Paul - Henrique - C.Brown
Formenton - Pinto - Watson
We gonna push hard for a playoff spot |

A lot of it depends on if Stutzle winds up playing wing or centre.
Assuming they dont add another player...
Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Stutzle Pinto White
Formenton Brown Brown
Paul Tierny Watson

White can definitely play the wing, I am with you there. Naturally Hertl would be the ideal fit plus only 1 year left on his deal. I would have no problem giving up Thomsson and a mid round draft pick for him. I dont think Ottawa would take on Henrique if they got Hertl. I think it has to be one or the other, but hey who knows?! |

Ideally, Ottawa lets Stutzle play wing for another season before possibly transitioning him over to center. I just think with the current group of forwards, Ottawa is lacking experience.

They already have a bunch of third pairing D and now there’s a hole at RW. I just don’t get it. |

Maybe it will all make sense if they trade a D as part of a package for a RW. Brannstrom maybe gets moved?

That’s what I’m hoping, but they need that center as well. |

I guess nobody should be surprised. Maybe this is why the Habs put him on waivers so easily.....again, great for discussion.

I'm also a big Sokolov fan, but I think he'll need another year at least in Belleville. Maybe he'll get a call up at some poit though. |

Absolutely! But the end of the season I truly think he will be ready for primetime. |

Personally I don’t think we need to tweak things to much, our young guns showed us a lot the last third of the season.
I do agree though that we need to target another player.
This is how I’d like to see our forward line up on opening night.
Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
Sokolov/Formenton - White - Stutzle
C.Brown - Heinrique - Paul
P.Kelly - Bishop - Wilson
I’ve heard numerous times that Anaheim needs to retain salary in a Heinrique, so a Tierney, brainstorm and a second for 2022, for Heinrique retaining 1/2 his salary, and a 3rd (or 4th) in 2022.
Send Pinto down to Belleville for a year, give White an opportunity to be part of our future.
Plus I think a 4th line with Kelly, Bishop, Wilson would be fun to watch. |

Ottawa definitely needs a vet to play at center or on the wing for sure, like you said! That 3rd line would be lethal if the Sens could acquire Henrique. I would have no problem moving Brannstrom either. Tierney is a warm body right now, so throw him in anytime.

Sorry and your 4th line of Kelly/Bishop/Watson would be a pain in the rear end for the opposition to play against!

henrique was on waivers last season and no one took him, even with 50% retained he is not worth one of OTT best D prospects.
seems if OTT wants a vet C with a 1-2 year contract all the lefts is the trade market. frankly would like dorion to get his thumbs out of his ass and start signing some of OTTs RFAs.... |

Reports out of the WJSS tournament suggests that Jake Sanderson looks like a man playing against boys and he is ready to play in the NHL today. I wonder if the Sens revisit the possibility of his playing this year. |

I saw that too. Very promising to see. Maybe Sanderson can join the team and help them with the playoff push at the end of the year. |
