I like the Richie signing.
I hope it pans out.

Do they go after a Dman now in trade using an upcoming UFA Dman as bait?

I suspect a trade. Kerfoot maybe given we have Engvall/Kampf/Spezza/Brooks all who can play center for the bottom two lines. Or maybe defence move even for depth or upgrade? Dermott I’d guess there.

I love Thicc Nick.. was hoping Murray brought him back... he's a beast.. and Cassidy got him from taking the dumb penalties that hindered him with us.

NO more liberties will be taken against 34 / 16 Willy or JT I can damn well guarantee you that... He's a top 3 heavyweight. Also has a terrific wrist shot from in close and is immovable from in front.. Really good signing...

Ritchie will be good with the Uber talented forwards, his job will be net presence, a little protection, and use the scoring touch he does have.... to be a Lucic type, (bruins version).

I'm sure he will see a lot of Barb Underhill, any improvement in the skating department will just him on the rush.

Kase is a good low risk high upside signing. Surprised Ritchie couldn't get a bigger deal.

My theory is that he could.

I think he is hoping to put up numbers in the Leafs top 6 and cash in big time when he is a UFA at 27.

You'll love Kase... energizer bunny..hard on the forecheck and on a terrible Ducks team was a real offensive threat ...

The much maligned Dubas has had a pretty good offseason so far.

If healthy you guys are at worst getting a good all around 3rd liner for cheap. If not healthy, his cap hit is negligible. So no downside risk.

This deal gets Ritchie to UFA status in 2 years. He will be on the top six, so he plays with Matthews and Marner (likely) or JT ans Nylander (possible). Local kid, good deal for him.

love the Ritchie and Kase signing, it's exactly what this team needs.

Watched Kase on the Ducks...he was awesome and noticeable. I mean, not an allstar like Marner, but he does everything else without fear.

Ritchie, exactly what this team needs. Get him training and he could be our Tom WIlson. NICE!

If we could move Engvall+ for another gritty #6RD, this team could a bit better next year...can't believe I just said that.

Take some LTIR salary and a RHD for Engvall and could be interesting.

Ritchie, Matthews, Nylander
Bunting, Tavares, Marner
Kase, Kerfoot, Micheyev
Spezza, Kampf, Simmonds
Gabriel (plays more on nights with a22holes on the other team)

Rielly, Brodie
Muzzin, Holl
Sandin, BAD ASS
Dermott

Campbell
Mrazek

Who could we get for Engvall + to fill the 6RH???

A cross checking net front maniac type????

Note: I still think Rielly should be signed and traded. I still think Marner should be traded because of that Cap Hit and team balance. I starting to feel like Dubas knows he's fu3ked if he keeps trying his tittlely-winks talent over grit approach. So I'm glad to see he can adapt. Now hopefully Keefe has learned from his mistakes.

Ritchie>Foligno, cheaper and younger. While Ritchie is beating the sh!t out of Chiarot, Foligno can sit around the campfire and with his mates and sing "those were the days"
