Probably caused they were hoping to extend 23 and he said no thanks. Had he signed extension Buffalo probably gets more. Would’ve like to seen conditional pick with future extension but not sure it’s allowed.

He was the goalie for Canada at the WJC. To think the Wings could have drafted him in the 7th round if Kris Draper didn't pick his kid instead.

It’s like what you pay for a rental at the trade deadline, but FL gets him for the whole year. Levi was going to be blocked by Knight, and the first rounder should be in a spot similar to this year (if not closer to 32). There’s no fleecing going on here.

I keep reading they gave up a “proven NHL’er”… what exactly has he proven again other than a sour attitude, questionable work ethic, productive when paired with a superstar/on the PP or late game meaningless goals.

He’s a more reliable version of Connor Shery…. Without a solitary post season game that after all is said and done, is the real measuring stick of being a proven NHL’er

He is at worst a versatile middle lineup F. He's arguably a capable 2C. Not saying a deal breaker for an organization, but relative to Risto who is mediocre at best, this isn't a great return.

I hate this team more and more everyday. Cheap owners, this fanbase use to be one of the best and they just continuously turn their backs on us and treat us like dirt, probably the same way they treat the players. 2nd rate organization, they deserve to be laughed at and criticized. Nothing ever changes, Team is such a dumpster fire. Just sell the team already, move them to Quebec. Pegulas didn't save this team they destroyed it.

This JYD !! Reinhardt is a proven nhler 20 goals in 5 reasons!! You don’t trade away that for a late 1st round pick and a 7 round goalie !! Unless she was sleeping under a rock!! 20 golf scores are hard to fine!! And that is a proven nhler! And He’s not a whiner and he’s got a great worth ethic !!so maybe you are under a rock or maybe you are a rock?

Florida takes some risk that Reinhart walks in one year. If he refuses to sign anything but a one year contract, or goes the arbitration route (also 1 season), it's pretty clear that he wants to explore UFA and see what he gets or where he could land.

Someone mentioned the deal could have been held up to see if he'd sign an extension now, which would have yielded Buffalo increased assets. I think that's probably accurate. And the trade shouldn't be compared to the Risto deal too closely. I don't know what Philly is doing, but their last few days have been atrocious, IMO. Good on Adam's for capitalizing on that!
