Best available at #20. Weak draft.

No one can possibly know If Guerin missed the boat or was spot on In the first round of the draft, We won't know that answer for 3 to 4 years.

I'm kinda curious about this though. Didn't the Wild draft the goalie of the future in Hunter Jones just 2 years ago? Have they already decided that he is not the future. I will say I was not as up on info for the draft as I have been in the last couple of years. I do know that drafting a goalie in the 1st Rd is generally considered not the best move unless that goalie has a majority of people saying he will be a star tender.

As for the other draft picks, I sure hope they see something big in Lambos. At least it looks like he will be a bigger defender, so he has some size to him. Peart....yea, one of us. Another smallish dman, though I hear his hockey IQ is through the roof. Needs to grow another inch or 2 and add about 25+ lbs. The rest of the draft picks, it basically sounds like decent role players with everyone having the same thing in common...not the fastest on skates. So, there's that...

But I think most of us know that we really can't judge an NHL draft pick unless it is something like a top 8-10 pick. Otherwise, it's a crap shoot with year of development time to see if it pans out or not. Just found it strange that they loaded up on defensemen and only grabbed 1 center to develop. Maybe that is what Guerin's plan is...build up defensemen and then get the offense from FAs and trades.

Hunter Jones was a second round pick, 59th overall a couple of years ago, He's only twenty years old and historically It takes net minders longer to develop, Jones could very well be a starter In Minnesota one day but we probably won't see him for 3 or 4 seasons from now.

Looking forward to Wednesday, Can't wait to see what the Wild MIGHT do. I am hoping the Wild take a serious look at Danault and I hope they take a solid look at Athenisou, He was NOT retained by the Kings. I'm pretty sure I spelled his name wrong.

Wallstedt has more upside than any goalie in the draft. He played and excelled against older players in Sweden. Scouts say that he has phenomenal footwork and excellent technique.

This wouldn’t have been a good pick in the top 10 but at #20 it’s a good move. You need multiple goalies in the pipeline.

GMs always take a beating by critics when they draft a netminder In the 1st round, Personally I think It's a silly myth and I have no reason or evidence to question Guerins first round pick of a goalie.
