Carol Schram: Canucks lose Kole Lind to Kraken, who they'll face in Seattle's home opener A very busy week in the NHL has seen the Vancouver Canucks lose young forward prospect Kole Lind to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. Jim Benning is looking to make more moves with the draft looming this weekend.

Benning says that JD is one of the top 9 forwards they wanted to add, so it's one more, not two.

My buddy said Twitter is pulling for khaira to Vancouver in free agency. I really hope that isn't the case, massive concussion history and he really isn't much better than Beagle both offensively or defensively.

He also said he wanted to bring in a Russian to help podz adjust to North America. Dadanov with retained salary makes sense given Ottawa is trying to deal him.

Benning on Petey and Quinn deals - That was an eight-year deal (Heiskanen) the precedent with that was Chabot signing an 8-year deal in Ottawa. We’re looking at different scenarios to sign both players. Maybe not in the long-term like that, maybe in the mid-range

Solid plan...

If he has not yet strategized potential buy-outs i suppose its going to be pretty quite on the the trade front, meanwhile other teams are dropping salary left and right.

I know he's been mentioned in here before though, but he seems like a logical fit here

If it's one a one year deal at a much lower cap hit, that's fine.

Benning just said if Mikey D is ready at camp to be the back up then we will use him but more than likely in Abbotsford . I take this as Holtby won't be a Canuck ( yes I am disecting every word. ) I took this as a slip up revealing his hand.

Thanks Carol. Draft day will be so much fun this year with a bunch of picks being made.

I don't think Van can really go wrong with anyone they pick at 9 in this draft. Unless Nucker someone is allowed to pick.
