Not understanding this protection list! In no way would I have protected Des! Keeping the 7-3-1 I would have much rather have protected Volkov. Maybe they will take Larson…if only

As I’ve stated in a previous blog this decision is so Fck’n stupid it simply defies any kind of logic or rationale.

Murray has to go… this is a easily fireable move.

That Solomon would sign off on this is…. Brutal.

The expansion list only makes sense if Murray has a side deal with Seattle to take Henrique (1st choice) or maybe Shattenkirk. Ron Francis (Seattle GM) drafted Fleury #7 in 94 I believe. Could see him interested again. Murray goes the 8/1 route and saves 4D, then Steel/Jones are exposed. I think both still have value. Of course everyone that likes to play the hindsight 20/20 card will bring up Theodore. Whatever.

If by chance there's no deal and Francis selects Fleury, then I agree with all the barbs leveled a Murray.

Jesus calm the f@#$ down! You guys are acting like Hayden Fleury is a real difference-maker. He's a decent defenseman who will probably be a 5/6 defenseman next year on the Ducks!!! The DFL Anaheim Ducks! Out of Lindholm, Fowler, Manson, and Drysdale, who would Fleury play in front of? That makes him a 5/6. I'll agree I think he is a pretty good player, but he's not THAT good. Relax everyone, the good thing about having a crappy, re-building team is it doesn't really matter who they take in the expansion draft. Krejci, Halak, and Tuuka are on the Bruins list, the entire third line and Landeskog are on Colorado's list, Gourde, Tyler Johnson, Killorn, and Palat are on Tampa's list. All of these players are better than Fleury. Fans of these teams have real concerns about losing a prominent player, Ducks fans don't.

I get it Fleury is not a top 4 D at the moment. But he has the ability to be…especially if BM is able to trade Manson out.
Landeskog is only on the list because he’s a UFA.
Halak and Tukka because they are both old…Boston will keep one so they aren’t took concerned.
Tampa is gonna lose one for nothing yes but it’s kinda karma for their cap management.

Fleury is more valuable to the Ducks than Sam Steel or Nic Deslauriers (he's a good foot soldier for the team, willing to drop the gloves, that's about it). Silfverberg coming off surgery (who knows how he'll be). Ducks could have gone 8/1 and protected their key players. EVERY comment you made about Fleury could have been made about Theodore before he was sent to Vegas. I'm hoping Murray has a side deal with Seattle to draft Henrique instead. Time will tell.

C'mon! Theodore was a rookie at the time who was offensively gifted but a defensive liability. (He still is. Every odd-man rush the Canadiens had Shea was on the ice.) Fleury has been playing in the NHL since 2015. We know what he is, he's a pretty good defenseman. Is losing Fleury going to be the difference between the Ducks making or missing the playoffs?
All of the important players for the Ducks' future are protected. I'll admit the Deslaurier inclusion on the protected list is bizarre, which leads me to believe there must be a post-expansion draft transaction that is going to happen that involves him. Even so, this is a bad to mediocre hockey team with a lot of bad to mediocre players. Seattle is going to select a bad to mediocre player on one of the worst teams in the NHL. Relax.

Lets just pray it is Larsson because he is a year younger and makes $100,000 less....not enough to convince me but who knows!
