Today @ 4:25 PM ET
Getting closer and closer to the expansion draft, regular draft and free agency. The itch is getting real.

They make sprays and powders for that kind of stuff!!

Columbus getting Wallstedt with their second pick would be a genius move by JD

Given how much Francis is supposedly asking to not select certain guys and GMs not willing to pay the prices he’s asking, you would think there will be a fleury of trades tomorrow before the roster freeze at 5 PM.

IDK about a"fleury" of trades, but you might have 3 - 5 minor deals as teams finalize their protection lists.

There’s 4-5 teams that are still at risk of losing a player of significance.
MIN - Soucy
WPG - Stanley
TBL - McD
Isles - Leddy
STL - Dunn

I think Tampa and Isles have accepted reality.

Instead of losing them for nothing y not get a 2nd like COL did? Then lose a player of less significance. COL dodged 2 bullets by Johnson waiving his NMC otherwise they would’ve had to expose Towes and Graves. Instead they protect Towes and traded Graves.

TBL have to expose Foote as well. I think Seattle would take him over McD given the age and contract

For Richard Panik and a second rounder. Why Detroit is giving up a pick here is beyond me especially if retaining half of Panik's salary for the two years of the deal. Gave Lou $4 mil of cap room

Well I think they certainly can re-acquire a 2nd at the trade deadline for him

2nd rd picks seem to be the going rate for decent exposed players

Isles can’t be done. They don’t have a defenseman to expose who meets requirements for expansion. Unless they sign Greene or Coburn to one year deals by tomorrow

This plus they desperately needed a NHL caliber LD with puck skills to pair with Seider.

and Wings still have 11 picks.

No big deal at all throwing one of those second rounders at a guy they can use and possibly peddle at the next deadline for a pick at next year’s draft.

Yeah I’m not mad about it at all. Anyone that can help them become a more competent team to allow the kids to be setup for more success in their development is a welcomed addition for me.

interested to see if Leafs trade Rielly like the Islanders traded Leddy

most protection predictions I see for Toronto have them choosing 8 skaters, not 7-3-1 so they can protect 4 defensemen but we'll see what happens

but Toronto likely to do something today

We could potentially absorb a forward and defenseman in the right deals. Not having a 2nd might have put us out of the Graves sweeps. Logan Stanley is still the guy I want.
