Anthony Travalgia: Bruins sign Brandon Carlo; Kevan Miller retires On the same day Kevan Miller retired, the Bruins signed Brandon Carlo to a six-year contract.

I like Carlo, he is a solid top 4 defenceman however he can’t stay healthy. The last three playoff runs he’s been injured. For a big guy he gets drilled all the time in vulnerable positions. He will get injured again and leave them with a serious hole in the playoffs.

You have to get JBB to talk McDonough into accepting a trade to the Bruins now.

From last blog

He's already getting paid - so that's nuts. Wayyyyy to greedy.

At this point he should be chasing a Cup, not the $, which he collects anyway. Handi-capping the team that might sign you is just dumb.

Couldn’t agree with you more. He’s just looking for a good fit with a solid chance to win a cup. The Bruins check a lot of the boxes he’d be looking for. Unless he were willing to take league minimum and then there might be some better options. I’d like to see it happen, though.

Yandle might be an attractive option for the PP. He’s made a poop ton in his career and I bet it’d surprise you. It would be hard to turn down playing for your hometown team. There’s rumors out there, but I don’t like to assume someone takes “the hometown deal” and I don’t like when people assume they should. Do what you want

But I would love to see him handle our top PP duties. He’d put up a Norris caliber year on numbers alone.

Most Florida fans are glad to see Yandle gone. Bruins need more shut down then offense on the back end. Not sure that's the route to go.

Carlo is nothing special. Not sure he warrants that deal.

No I agree. I said in the last blog that Yandle doesn’t solve our problems, but if he can be had on a deal that doesn’t prevent Sweeney from addressing other areas of need, than I’m all in.
