You are 100% correct on the 2017 playoff run. Without Pekka and his UNREAL performance we don't even make it that far. 12/10 guy.

Now we sit here 4 years later like wtf.

Congratulations on becoming official.

The first thing I want to say about Peks is Thank God! The thought of him wearing another teams uniform was absolutely nauseating to me. I do wonder what his absence will mean from a leadership perspective for this team. With all do respect to Josi, we all know who the actual leader in the locker room was. It was becoming clear for a couple of years now that Rinne's time was coming to an end, but having a man of his caliber on your team is an asset regardless of what role he was playing.

Now that Peks has decided to ride off into the sunset, he'll undoubtable be the first Predator to have his number retired, and I already envy anyone with the good fortunate to be the arena the day it happens. The atmosphere is going to be insane, and I don't give a s@#t what any troll from any other team thinks about that. You can argue whether or not he's HOF worthy, personally I don't think he is, but that doesn't change how much he's meant to the team over the years. He's one person I've admired as much as a person as I have a player, actually probably more so.

Just now read your other Guest Writer article from July 2nd. Well thought out, for sure. (Ek needs to transfer that one to this HB page to give it more exposure to Pred fans.)

Next few weeks will be interesting.

Welcome aboard!

Hard to put into words what Rinne means to Nashville. Just such a class individual in addition to being such a a World class goalie for so long. When he signed his 7 year contract at a time everything was so unsettled here it stood in contrast to players like Ryan Suter who gave his verbal word he was staying then left. So many good memories of Pekka. He is the most important player to ever wear the Preds uniform. In a football city he was the first universally loved Hockey player. He is on the Mount Rushmore of Nashville athletes. He will be the first player to have his number retired and I hope I can be there that night. He sure will be missed.

Well said. It's going to take some getting used to knowing he's not in goal or even on the bench as Juuse's backup as he was for much of the past season. He was calming and positive wherever he happened to be. (That won't change.)

Pekka Rinne will be missed.

I thought maybe doing the Ellis trade before the Expansion Draft was so Poile didn't have to protect 5 D-men, but he did it anyway.

Tanner Jeanott? Seriously? Was Poile really concerned Seattle was going to take him? It was nice knowing you Colton.

Really surprised Sissons unprotected over Jeanott too. I thought Trenin might be a forward they wouldn’t gamble with either. Was rather disappointed to read the Flyers take on the trade, how they felt Myers has a low hockey IQ and kept making the same mistakes over and over again.
Be interesting watching the Expansion draft Wednesday night. Suspect Sissons goes because he is on a favorable contract. Calle is likely staying because he is one year away from UFA
Obvious Hynes is in Poiie’s ear and wants to keep building a bigger more physical team. Are Forsberg and Eckholm going to want to extend with all that’s going on? Tough to sign long term without a no movement when you see how the team treated Ellis and now Duchene.

Yeah, looking at the players Poile protected, it almost seems like he wants Seattle to take Sissons. There may have been a slim chance Seattle might've taken a flyer on Johansen without any more appealing options, but Sisson being exposed changes that. He's the type of guy who'd fit right in with a new expansion team. Protecting Jeanott makes no sense. He was safe, he didn't need to be protected unless there's something else going on we don't know about.
