If he drops go with Brandt Clarke. You won't be disappointed.

The Sharks have a greater need for Center, with only Hertl and Couture as legitimate top Centers and they are oft injured. With Melnichuyk and Edmond, they are closer to competency in goal than they are in Center so I wouldn't take him at #7

Normally I'd say you shouldn't draft a high 1st rounder based on positional need - but this draft is a bit different with almost no clear "best available player"s. I think it really depends on who's available. Sharks have needs across the board. I'd be okay with them taking Wallstedt at 7, assuming Eklund and Hughes are off the board. And I wouldn't hate on them drafting McTavish either (though sounds like his ceiling is about a 3C).

Ultimately I think Eklund's skill set is the best fit for the Sharks.

Sounds like DW and Friends are really high on Melnichuyk, but most of the hockey world is not. I've read several scouting reports that question if he'll even make it as a backup. Not sure about Edmond.

That's what makes me nervous with both DW SR & JR, The big question can they mess this pick up & set the rebuild oops I mean retool for E. Karlson fans & set the team back even more?

The San Jose Sharks are dead In the water, Pun Intended, If they want to get back on track It starts with a huge tear down, First move, firing of Doug Wilson.
