Minn is in a tough spot for the draft. Have to protect Suter Brodin and Surgeon (all have NMC) which would leave Dumba exposed.

If they go total of 8 players to protect Dumba they have to protect Parise and Zucc (NMC) they would only have 2 spots to protect Eriksson Ek, Fiala, Greenway, Foligno, Hartman.

If they trade Dumba and go 7/3 they can protect the forwards but lose Soucy. (Might be a good 3rd pair LHD option)

They get a good young player that’s exempt in Jones, get to expose Hajek (who cares if he’s taken). We get Soucy and a pick and use our 3rd spot to protect Soucy. Looks like a win win and not sure how many other teams would be able to offer that for MINN.

They could ask Suter to waive his NMC for the exp. draft. I highly doubt Seattle wants to take a 36yo defenseman making $7.5M+ for the next four seasons. Not the kind of player you'd want taking up nearly 10% of your cap in your inaugural season.

Just listened to Gallant on nhl radio he was very high on Power after coaching him in the worlds. Though he was a combo between Pronger and Lidstom

That's why Gorton isn't here anymore. Although at the time of that trade I don't think we had the cap space to fit those players and we kinda got fleeced by Tampa.
