so the Devils should protect 8 forwards and no defensemen? Are they going to offer up a pick to Seattle to not take Severson?

That sounds exceedingly dumb, especially when they can protect 7 forwards and 3 defensemen.

So the question is, who would you protect?

I know, who else would you use that protection? Wood is another forward. And I do think he is at risk.

I would protect Damon Severson. 100% chance he'd be gone if they don't protect him.

With Wood getting the 'A', I think raises his value. Teams will now get a speedy, gritty forward with leadership and letter.

It def adds to his value, so if he is destined to leave NJ, I hope its via a trade and not giving him away.

The Devils should protect 8 forwards.
Nico Hischier, Nathan Bastian Jesper Bratt, Pavel Zacha, Miles Wood, Michael Mcleod, Yegor Sharangovich, Janne Kuokkanen

Devils Defense.
Damon Severson, Ryan Murray

Goalie.
Blackwood

Ummmm, what? This is 8 forwards, 2 defenders and 1 tendy, this isn’t even an option.

Your 2 choices are 7F/3D/1G OR 8FD/1G.... what are you smoking bro? Pass that around.

Bang up job on another terrible blog. You continue to give no valuable analysis, incite, or opinion. Heck it doesn't even seem like you grasp the concept of Expansion:

"The Devils should protect 8 forwards.
Nico Hischier, Nathan Bastian Jesper Bratt, Pavel Zacha, Miles Wood, Michael Mcleod, Yegor Sharangovich, Janne Kuokkanen"

Well why stop at 8, why don't we just protect them all, who cares about the rules or protecting any defensemen. Please figure out what 7/3/1 or 8/1 means brotato.

Even if you are just poorly expressing yourself (which is your standard) and you mean to suggest we do the 8/1 version and protect that lot listed above you are leaving Severson exposed over Nathan Bastian?????????? I don't dislike Bastian, but he is a 4th liner that may be a 3rd liner at best case scenario, we seem to be able to draft those pretty consistently and would not be a major loss what so ever.

Then you blabber off two Dman names anyway leaving the reader lacking clarity on your protection process(a driving force for posting this blog?). One of which, Ryan Murray is a UFA and showed no interest in returning at the end of the year interview, why would you protect him? If he wants to sign, he'll do so after the expansion draft, and if he doesn't so long, farewell.( I dont have an issue with Murray, he is adequate but did not wow me and injury history is due to kick in after a healthy year)

What is even more puzzling is your use of "we" that means two brains worked together and still churned this out. Very disconcerting.

I really hate to disparage another devils fan but your bloggings are a terrible representation for this fan base, please just stop, half of your consistent posters write circles around you and provide better conversation points. Heck even the "Dooooomed" guy is more entertaining. If you are going to keep up these shenanigans put some effort in to know what you are talking about, and learn how to clearly express it.

The ironic thing is reading posts like yours are worse than reading blogs.

This isn't whining, it is an analysis of a terrible blog. One of the two main points was the topic of protection lists in which the blogger either doesn't understand the concept of protection or is unable to clearly communicate his points to his audience(which in turn makes for a blog worthy of criticism). You can choose to bicker with me about it but it isn't going to change my views on them. If you are one who settles for mediocrity or worse, then cheers to you sir. Not every blog gets a participation trophy. I am simply trying to illicit a change for the positive whether it be better writing from this blogger or a different one. I personally am content with no blog posts and talking to most of you in a month old blogs at the bottom of the page because again there are several posters that drive conversation and provide much better insight.

Also Thanks for bumping my comments and posting them in the responses yet again regardless of your disdain.
