Hope you’re having a kickass start to the summer bud. Ps, the Cleve is in my top list of destinations for a long weekender.

Did anybody really think the goaltending duo of Ullmark and Hutton would play well or even hold up? No, but Adams did.

He signed Reinhart to yet another short term deal.

Here's what you've been consistently doing: Sure, Adams had moves that didn't work, but they were the fault of one of the player, the former coach, or the owners.

This is a bottom line business, and you are your results.

So far, Adams results are not good.

Not unlikely that Samson wanted a short term deal...

Yeah, sad to say but I think he was the determining factor there. They certainly sound like they want to resign him now.

My opinions on these comments :

Krueger and Housley were bad coaches, that's why they're gone. They were the wrong hires, as usual.

Skinner was confusingly demoted from Jack's line for Krueger reasons - reasons none of us will understand. Best guess is that Skinner didn't try hard in practice ? Who cares. Play him with Jack and watch him score 40. I don't care if he was perceived as someone who didn't practice well.

ROR was stupidly traded by our GM at the time for no reason. He didn't ask out, he was fine playing here, and "fans" basically tried to run him out town. Management listened I guess (didn't want the backlash ?), and he was traded for one of the worst returns ever by the team.

None of that was because of anything Jack had to say.

- kritter65

Kinda my point though. You think if Jack wanted skinner on his line he doesn’t play there? No one knows but Jack and the coach he endorsed publicly (you think if Jack didn’t approve of Krueger he gets hired?) - but I call bs on that and his whole victim narrative.

I think I expected far better than what we got out of that duo. Hutton's lasek was supposed to help and Ullmark looked like a legit starter. I certainly didn't think Ullmark would start less than 20 games and Michael Houser would be our last man standing at the end. Not sure I would blame Adams for tending...yet.

What was he going to do? Hutton was going to play out his year. Ullmark was going to be the starter and got hurt.

Agreed with the rest of what you said, but wanted to fight on this particular point lol.

If you're a Cup contender, like they thought they were, you should be able to handle a goaltending injury. With the compressed schedule, everyone knew they were likely to use a 3rd and 4th goalie. Going with Hutton, Johansson, and Tokarski as backups behind an injury-prone starter was just an obvious problem.

The last 3 GMs all finished last in their first season. I don't have a point here. Just a fun fact

He had 5 quality starts for them. Good for him for turning his season around. On this team, it was ugly.

Adams kicked every major decision down the road to this season.

He claimed to want to integrate Advanced Analytics into decisions, yet two of his first moves in Eakin and Girgensons defy him actually doing so. Why any GM would over pay and over-term Girgensons is laughable at best.

Being a lap-puppy to Krueger and his BS system was his own choosing. Why he would allow a D built on puck-movers to be chained to their Dzone is a disaster he participated in. Not helping Terry to understand that Hall was not the final piece to the puzzle was his poor decision.

Taking a risk with Quinn over other prospects could pay dividends, or be another in a long line of Draft failures for the organization...the jury is out on that one, but it is a very reasonable concern.

He did try to mitigate certain holes like 2C with Staal, but he continued to misjudge the 1RhD dilemma and the shakey G. You don't do that if you're "all in".

It is absolutely fair to use the past to help in the evaluation with the unknown of the future. It is done everyday in a multitude of ways. There are huge question Mark's with Adams.

It is safe to say Kevyn has quite a bit to prove and question his ability to do so.

Pretty mixed views in MN. He did have 14pts in 36, so better than Staal. But he did bag 30 in 60 for us, his point generation actually dropped.

They did try to acquire another goalie last offseason, if fell through even Chad D reported it. Did he make mistakes off course, don't think anyone said he didn't. He can't control the past, he can only make moves to help the future. He got a bag of Sh!t dumped in his lap as soon as he took over, and a lot of turmoil happened throughout the season. All we can hope for is he and Karmanos make the right decisions that push this franchise forward in a positive way.

I'll see your hypothetical and raise you another: is there any way the Pegulas fire Adams after 3 years? It would be like firing themselves

I think we all better hope that Adams can learn quickly because I have a feeling he's gonna be here a loooong time

Those last dozen Krueger games was without a doubt the lowest Sabres point of the last decade

Agreed. I've never had less interest in watching a game than during that poop festival.
