thx...if he could be signed by buffalo for $5-5.5m, are you good with that? - Michael Pachla
I'm good with the predicted deal, so definitely yes to the above. |

I think I expected far better than what we got out of that duo. Hutton's lasek was supposed to help and Ullmark looked like a legit starter. I certainly didn't think Ullmark would start less than 20 games and Michael Houser would be our last man standing at the end. Not sure I would blame Adams for tending...yet.
What was he going to do? Hutton was going to play out his year. Ullmark was going to be the starter and got hurt.
Agreed with the rest of what you said, but wanted to fight on this particular point lol. - RhinoFan
Counterpoints to the above:
- Hutton could have improved with the lasek and still been bad overall, but there was much skepticism over how much lasek would help him
- When does Ullmark play a full season without getting injured and shoulder a full workload?
- Johansson was the 3rd goaltender, which due to the above, meant he was going to get real minutes on the ice
None of the above was difficult to predict, and was an easy sore spot to see in the offseason. |

But the point is the 3 Hart Trophy finalist are all sitting home CDC relatively early in the PO's.
It is funny to me anyway. - IonSabres
I hear ya
Idk that’s it all that surprising though?
Leafs are always playoff busts
Oilers are a very flawed team
And the AVs ran into a really tough Vegas team
Suspect goaltending cost all those teams too |

I just find it funny that the 3M's are out, that was the main point of my post.
But since you want to go there, he had 9 points in the 1st series...awesome.
50% of his series 2 points game in a 7-1 game 1 blowout.
In games 3, 4 and 5 he had 1 point to let VGK back into the series and was called out publicly by his coach.
He did play great last night in a critical game 6, but proved to be too little too late unfortunately
He is a fantastic player who is fun as hell to watch play the game...like McDavid and Matthews are too...though, now they are all watching from home, each one questioning themselves for not getting it done. - IonSabres

Trade 4: The Sabres acquire Mikko Koskinen and a 2022 second-round pick from the Edmonton Oilers
This is one of the moves I discussed above where I took on short-term salary for an asset. Koskinen has one year remaining on his contract with a $4.5 million cap hit. The Finnish goalie does have a no-trade clause in his deal, but I’d imagine he would waive for an opportunity to play elsewhere. He would essentially be the backup goaltender on this roster (you’ll see the starter soon).
His numbers are not the best, but they’re not terrible either. In Evolving Hockey’s model, he had a -5.36 goals saved above expected number in all situations. He’s not going to drastically change the Sabres fortunes, but that shot-adjusted number is better than a goaltender such as Joonas Korpisalo over the last two years.
How are they getting this guy? Are they just acquiring him with hookers and blow?
I think he forgot to add whoever we are trading in this proposal.

It's a total cap dump by Edmonton, so it's for future considerations, or a 7th round pick. |

Funny Johansson played good behind a good team. - Buff36[/quote
I’m not sure why a lot of people think differently. A good team usually means goaltenders are confident and play well behind them. A bad team will usually promote bad goaltending. Johansson is a good example. |
