Old Lou knows how to build a team. He did it in New Jersey and he's doing it on the Island. Trotz always did more with less in Nashville and I bet the Caps regret not paying him what he wanted after the 2018 SC win. Both these guys are easy to cheer for. Winners win and keep winning. There's no splitting the atom here.

There used to be a clueless blogger here by the name of Jimmy Tanner who enjoyed calling Lou a dinosaur. Well Jimmy, he's still roaring and you're still whining about the greatest team ever assembled in the cap era failing to make it out of the first round again.

Keep it going, Dinosaur Lou! 👍

From 1998-2003 (5 years), Lamoriello spent about $186 million on payroll. Clarkie spent $250 m.
Of 25 meetings between the two clubs in regular season, Flyers won 7, and 0 cups. Devils won 13 and 2 cups.

Palmieri, obtained for a pittance, had 4 goals against Boston.

About to turn 79 in a few months and still balling.

Respect.

Damn, I have to tip my hat to them both. LOL to their former teams watching them in action.

It's rare to write a hockey blog post that hits the bullseye.
This one does, Kevin.
Personally I'm floored Boston lost to the Isles. Floored Leafs choked again.

I think now that 95 percent of what is written about how to build hockey teams these days is crap. All the young and fast and pure talent stuff and the big deadline deal...
Should have been a wake up call when chief led the blues to a cup. Now the Isles.
Build a TEAM. Lou and Barry know how.
