Seriously, though. You figure they’ll prolly take on a bad contract or two to get to the floor and reap the rewards of draft picks and/or prospects that teams will chuck in to make it favorable. Much like Vegas did.
Worked out just fine for them.

Absolutely ridiculous! I have no ill will towards the Seattle team at all. But the system is screwed up. The expansion rules are so favorable and then on top of that, they gift then the 3rd best shot at "winning" the stupid draft lottery? As much as it sucks to flame out in the first round, Id be royally pissed if my team was 3rd worst and had my lottery chances bumped back for an expansion team.
Just so typical. The NHL gets what it deserves. Playoffs with No Crosby, McDavid, or Ovechkin because it would rather ignore the rules and have mediocre teams competitive than focus on the stars... |
