There is absolutely nothing Washington has (that they will or would let go of) that interest me at all. We all know how Yzerman works and he will do something from outta nowhere, for someone and possibly picks that no one considered, or really thought possible.

Caps gotta shed salary to sign Ovie, they only have $4M in cap space! They need at least $6.5 more to sign Ovie!

Those are not the type of Players Steve will be interested in adding. The players listed are precisely the type of miscreants and post-decline players added each season by teams the perpetually reside on the playoff fringe. Washington offers nothing of value to a rebuilding club.

Actually Mantha might be the easiest to move for them, but I don't see him coming back here.
Maybe they move Kuzy and Vanicek for Reinhart and Luukonen. Kuzy has been rumored to BS already.

Svech for Kuz + 1st rounder in ‘22. Clears cap for Ovechkin, gives us another 1st rounder next year, Wash will be ok but struggle again in the SCPO = Decent shot a a solid 1st. But this is really pushing it, to be honest. Wash isn’t a SCF threat, so they may just burn it down & rebuild now v the slowly declining death that we went through.

Again, nothing that makes me salivate. The only thing I’d do is salary/good player (e.g., Kuznetsov-like) and a 1st….. But, I’d not ask them; they’d have to come to me. Make sense?

They have about ~9.4 mil right now to sign Ovi, and that's without Kempny to LTIR.

If they give up a 1st with Kuzy, they are gonna want a 2nd line guy back, not a betweener.

Cap freindly revised all these figures in the past hour!! Anyway if they move Kuzy and take some one with a lesser cap hit they can use that to re-sign Samsonov. They still want to move Kuzy. I would think Stevie could offer Raz for Kuzy.....but he won't want that cap hit.

He may be "homesick" by now.

I've convinced myself the big targets this year would be RNH and Hamilton via UFA and then Nylander via trade. Could easily see them swim around Laine and Reinhart as well.

Smaller targets being Brandon Montour, Alexander Wennberg, and Ryan Murray. Could also bring Nemeth back.

I'm going to keep saying "offer sheet Pettersson" in the comments like once or twice a week until he has a contract with somebody.
