It seems like we've reached the point where it's best for both parties to call it a night

Could be, we shall see. All a bunch of words right now.

Adams saying they have the talent to win after finishing dead last is amazing

Also, I sincerely hope Karmanos knows what he’s doing.

- sbroads24

And altogether unsurprising. We all suspected he's nothing more than a mouthpiece for ownership. Comments like these confirm it.

Also...only the buffalo sabres would have a franchise player on their roster and view him as the problem. They'll blame Eichel and trade him. Then they'll prop up another young, talented forward (cozins) as the face od the franchise until he gets tired of losing. Rise and repeat.

We reported LAK Eichel interest earlier than others but we’re not the only ones to.
Should not come as shock as Kings smartly have interest in young, controllable established NHL talent and would leverage prospects to acquire them.
They did with Dubois, they do with Eichel.

He also said Eichel to LA would be Byfield, Turcotte, a 1st and 2nd.

I think we'd both agree that the Sabres were never equal to the sum of their parts this year, let alone greater than, but they were a competitive team with Ullmark in net

Krueger should have had them be at least competitive with the pieces at his disposal but he never was. Adams alluded to the idea that this was sort of a final go at things with short term contracts.

I think it's over

- jcragcrumple

The roster was still bottom half because of very predictable issues that weren’t addressed or addressed properly.

Not moving on from Hutton was nuts.

Signing Eakin to be a top 9 center was nuts

Keeping Ristolainen so that Krueger could overplay him was crazy for the 5th straight offseason

Banking on Eric Staal to be a top 6 player was a giant risk

And not all of it is on Adams it was a difficult offseason and he has no help.

I just have 0 faith he’s going to build it right this go round

Maybe in a vacuum.
I repeatedly said they'd finish fighting for 7th.
I was wrong.

Prepare for next season to be another poop show as the roster undergoes massive change and a fair amount of their vets are purged...good bad and indifferent. The competition in the Atlantic has gotten much stiffer.

- IonSabres

You were very accurate with your assessment, nobody expected dead last.

I really thought they would fight for the 4th playoff spot behind

Tampa
Boston
Washington

Compete with the islanders/ probably miss out

Push with phili and the rangers
Beat out NJ

Bet with your wallet not your heart , as they say....

Interesting the jets fan, says only the Sabres would have a franchise player on the roster and view him as a problem. They'll blame sam darnold and trade him.

Disfunction at the top for both franchises.

I have faith that he won't spend assets to speed up a rebuild. He hasn't yet and I don't think he will.

Can he extract proper value from his pending trades? That's a huge question without an answer. An Eichel trade is practically unwinnable so he's already up against it

What did you expect him to say. "Goddammit are Organization is in shambles, we have no future", Jesus what do people expect in these interviews, and basically he said he's got a lot of work to you, which he does. Nothing has happened yet, it's all words. When and if they do trades (Eichel Rhino) then people can start jumping, until then it's all posturing.

Don’t even need that. Byfield and Turcotte is more than enough already. ++ would be a slam dunk if offered why has it not been sent in

If it was just Byfield and Turcotte you make that trade.

Byfield
Cozens
Turcotte
Mitts down the middle. That has so much potential and can be best center group in league.

And that lets you use your 1st-3rd overall where ever it falls on bpa. If you think it’s powers you take him.

Keep all the young guys in juniors/college/minors a year. Draft top 3 next year.

That squad is WAY better then the current group we have now. And it’s not even close

We won’t really know that until his job is on the line. And that’s where the Pegula’s come into play too

There needs to be a realistic timeline set

Now, include Olofson and the rights to Pilut...

That’s what I’m saying. Those wanting two firsts on top of Byfield and turcotte are setting themselves up for disappointment. If we got the Byfield, turcotte a first and a second, I’d take that all day
