yeah as much as I 100% understand why you'd say that, for me it's probably the Ledger movie (as some might find it almost cliché now loll)... I kinda hate comparing them though because the styles of these movies are so frickin' different.

yeah having better wingers definitely can't hurt him in his process of getting out of this funk

I agree, good wingers won't hurt KK. Unfortunately, it is certain KK cannot help good wingers.

Caufield must be kept isolated from KK. The risk is otherwise high he will also catch Bergevin-19. This fatal disease continues to hamper development and remains highly contagious, quickly spreading from prospect to prospect. Its unfathomable to have wasted a full decade without developing a single front line player.

I suspect ownership will finally part ways with Bergevin, abruptly ending this decade of squandered opportunity. I'm glad it appears Bergevin's floundering fiasco will finally end before Suzuki and Caufield are stricken with this horrendous affliction.

So KK is in a funk but he will come out of it with better wingers... Seriously, of course centres will look better surrounded by better wingers.

I don't think he is in a funk. I think he's played pretty well. Easily the most physical and aggressive centre on the team. He's been asked to be more defensively aware and that will impact his production. I wonder what his zone starts this year compared to his first year are like? He's been asked to handle more responsibility and I think he's done well.

His shot is not at the same level where it was when he was scoring it’s likely a confidence thing.

Tbh this team better make a good run this year as next year we may get back to the usual division format and we see Ottawa keeps getting better

This is a team with 24 wins and 29 losses.

They are mediocre, at best.

The problem is you have 2 key guys that are no longer in their prime, with GM and coaching still expecting them to play like they are in their prime, and that is what they used as a basis to build a winning team.

I like the youth on this team a lot more than in the last 25 years, and I think there is a nice core of kids that can be exciting to watch and will develop into decent productive NHL players, but until there is a fundamental change in philosophy, mediocre is the level where this team will perform.

I remember a young winger who seemingly made no progress in his game after his first three seasons. The book on him at that point was he was soft and didn't want to make the effort needed to become the star he was supposed to be when he was drafted. In his next six seasons he averaged 55 goals and 128 points. So, yeah, I wouldn't give up on this kid yet, because you never know.
