Whelp, about the only cause for optimism is that we have two goalies that can keep us in any game. Beyond that, this team does not look like it can stack up against the other three divisional contenders post deadline. - keaner17
Speaking of goalies what happened to Varly tonight? |

He got hurt auditioning for the Barzal winger spot. He was on The List. |

I get that and the first thing I said is most coaches do. Which referenced experience vs youngsters.
My point is Crappy shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath as Trotz let alone the same sentence. Just my opinion of course but by God hard to degate. - nyisles7
One of the most constant complaints about Cappy was his insistance to do just that. It's just about my only complaint with Trotz. Some coaches let kids play through early struggles, others turn to veterans who play their role. I don't think Coburn over Dobson or Komarov over Wahlstrom helps the youngsters or the team. |

Even after Lee got hurt, they looked better before the deadline than they do now. Maybe it's all the line changes, but there are entire games now where they look like they've never played together before. - UIF
Because there is no line consistency in my opinion. That’s not good especially with less than 10 games until the PO’s. Typically you set and want to get rolling going into the dance. |

This is a big concern. They need to figure out their long term solution and let it gel. Time's ticking |

Yeah, that's what it looks like. Maybe just go back to what worked for the first 40 games! |

I will agree with Coburn over Dobson but I think Trotz is looking at what he(Coburn)still has. Wahlstrom certainly didn’t turn any pages as far as the Isles PP or offense as far as I’m concerned.
The team better figure it out and quick because this is no time to be floundering around looking for line chemistry and consistency. |

Yes minus Lee, and Barzal needs to bring it regardless. Suck it up buddy. |

They have to at least split with the rangers |
|
|
|
If I were you I would stop watching until Trotz is Fired! - nyisles7
Islanders had an 11 point lead over the Rangers now its 5. If we split we are fine if we get swept it's down to one |

have to score on that 4-on-3 .. they passed the puck about 47 times... insanity. shoot the frggin puck and crash the friggin net. .. maddening. (Bailey another 2 or 3 give aways on the power play right as we were finally set up in O-zone. dumb passes, dumb lazy plays... the guy just stinks). |

Trotz: Varlamov sat out due to "soreness." Sorokin was scheduled to play tonight. "Not a problem going forward." |

On April 22nd the islanders had an 11 point lead on the Rangers 6 days later it's down to 5. If we get swept in this set with the Rags it's one. Islanders except for Boston have 3 teams that are out of the playoffs Rangers buffalo and the devils. There is no reason to miss the playoffs with that easy schedule. If they do with that easy schedule then everyone will be fired. All the Islanders have to do is split this series and we are in. |
