Yep. Sorokin didn't bail them out either. This was a total team loss. - JimmyP
The thread might want to re think the #1 goalie status. |

So Leo off Barzals line. How many points did Barzal have? Ebs? |

Komarov was terrible tonight. I mean the guy was completely invisible. It's like he was a healthy scratch. |

He was scratched. Can’t you tell by how incredible Barzal and Ebs were on the score sheet? |

So how did Leo manage to influence Barzal to stay out on that shift for 1:38, or whatever it was, that led to a Caps goal? I think he was using mental telepathy from the press box.
Seriously, the Isles looked terrible from the goalie on out. They had no jump. It seemed like they lost every race for a loose puck.........and usually there wasn't even a race.
And Sorokin picked a heckuva time to go cold. I think Varly gets the next few starts, unless they clinch a playoff spot sooner.

Missed the game. Thought I’d come here for a recap but all I read is “told you so, know it all bullpoop”. What a douche. Talk about blow hard redundant nonsense. |

Wait what did you want to hear? Some they played well BS?
Go (frank) yourself! Leo wasn’t on the first line and the first line still sucked.
The fact is the BS saying Leo is the problem is more redundant then the BS saying he’s not the problem so in a few words you and the rest of the crew who didn’t show up can go (frank) off.
Barzal and Ebs were a no show. Leo’s fault |

Well that was a terrible game. The important thing we learned was if Leo Komarov was on the first line we would’ve won. Now we know. |

Prior to last nights game his save % was .943. Was he his sharpest no but the team in front of him did not give him any help. To ones that feel he should not have played. It was a bad team game at a bad time.
I think Trotz needs to solidify his lines. The theory of everyone playing with everyone is not working.

Not sure why your so defensive? Or offensive. Do you think I was referring to you? - TogaIsles
Just busting balls of course.
The only line that generated any threats was JGP’s line.
Only other positive was the PP connected twice.
You have to think Barry puts the blender to work on the lines and Wally may get a look next game. |

I agree with this. After all, I was one of the ones saying that he SHOULD HAVE played.
But Sorokin was indeed BAD last night, despite the team in front of him also being BAD. |

He was terrible. There’s no dolling that turd up. Like I’ve said before he has some work to do he’s not quite there yet. I say this knowing he will most likely be our number one some day just not now. With that said no matter how great he winds up being ALL goaltenders have bad games. |

Hopefully you identified that my hyperbole was done purposely and by design to make a point - Cptmjl
Of course. As was the other side's use of hyperbole.
I have no idea if this stat is even available, but I sometimes wonder what the Isles' record is with Uncle Leo in the lineup, and with him being a healthy scratch. I suspect it's not as bad as his detractors think. |

Not saying this from hindsight but I would have played Varly last night. He shut out the caps and was very sharp in the previous game. I’d play him going forward until he falters. I’m actually a little surprised Trotz played Sorokin last night - knowing how much he relies on the vets. With that said I have a tough time predicting his pregame lineups. Especially the first line LW. Hopefully that gets sorted out quickly and that line gets going. Gonna be a short playoff run if not. |

I thought Varly was going to get the nod as well. As you said he was sharp in his last few starts. |

💯 however I just thought Barry would start riding 1 of them getting ready for the POs
For me Varly is the #1 and has the PO experience. Don’t see him platooning them in the POs but who knows. |
