Detroit is winning again tonight. đź‘Ť

I say keep winning games. Bettman will (frank) us in the draft lottery no matter where we finish.

That’s what it feels like, anyway. If this team can start figuring things out, it’s important for them to see the payoff.

Detroit 4 Chicago 3 tonight In 3 periods. I’m measuring this based on the faces on the bench last game, they looked excited. Let’s finish on a high note, wings have some draft picks this year and who sez Stevie is over come draft time.

My apologies for getting off subject but i was thinking what would it take for the Wings to grab Werenski? I just see a fit. (Dreamer)

Better to wait until Werenski is a UFA. Keep the assets. Zach and Larkin are BFFs. He's a Michigan boy. He'll likely want to sign here when his contract is up. He's an RFA after next season. I can't see him signing a long term deal in Columbus. They also have Seth Jones to worry about.

This is a really poignant question. After next season, Werenski is an RFA and Jones is UFA. The team is promising a “reload” this offseason, but quietly probing about Jones’s possible extensions. If there’s a chance Jones wants to hit the open market, that would be a nightmare. That’s when “reload” goes to “rebuild”. I don’t think you could do it this year. The team is in it to impress Jones, and come out swinging. But, IF by January/February next year Jones isn’t locked down, all bets are off. It would take a lot to get him. CBJ still hasn’t found their franchise center. They’ll be looking up the middle to build around. Larkin is one of three “no go” trade options (per other GMs who spoke to Yzerman). You’d be looking at first round pick(s) for sure, but a stud up the middle. For Detroit, the most exciting “up and coming” centers are Berggren and Veleno. IF either looks like they can be a top 6 center in the league it would take one of them, a strong defensive prospect (McIsaac still needs to prove he can stay healthy but would be in the right line of thinking) and possibly another player. It would be pricey.

I would love to see some Wolverines come to town. If Hyman can’t get the right deal in Toronto, man I love that kid.

But

There are players I would part with a high first round pick for. They’re not available at this point, but I’d give up even a first overall for:

Chycrun or Dahlin.

If AZ slashes the budget, and Detroit won the lotto (don’t hold your breath) Buffalo as well could be interested in that first overall (assuming they don’t get it). Those left side D men would be such a boost. Again, not on the table and not likely to happen, but I’d pay for them.

Why wait until he is past his prime. If the price is right get him ASAP.

If I see it in my alpha bits it goes on the blog. If I ever see antidisestablishmentarianism I’m screwed.

Team is improving Ramussan looks great better every game. Now the negative Blashill still is the most inept coach I have ever seen. Why is gagner out on 5 on 3 and not vrana. Blashill and his coaching staff must go.Worst coaching that just seems to get worse. Team is improving in spite of this useless bench boss

Looks like Detroit is back in tank mode!! They must have figured a better chance at better draft position is more advantageous for this year. Either that or they seen this discussion and said "hold by beer!"
