Yeah, think it was Jody Shelley that said that after PPs that didn't go well, G, Jake and Simmer would be fuming coming back to the bench. They'd get into it with each other and sometimes it would get so bad they'd be on the verge of fisticuffs. Shelley said it was (frank)ing hilarious to watch. But they were all buds so it was left on the ice. - Tomahawk
I am kinda calling bs on this one. That kinda thing, if recurrent enough, would be picked up by tv cameras.
But anyway, that's different from what I thought you were saying. I thought Simmer cracked the whip in the locker room, and threatened to beat people up if they did not do x-y-z. That would be even funnier. |

Allison making his debut! - arichardson22
I'd be worried about throwing the kid into the dumpster fire that is the Flyers, but then again, the dumpster appears to have already burned and melted down. It's only barely smoldering at this point. |

i think they should cancel the season, Canucks should be allowed to have a chance to win games, not playing since 3-25 due to Covid just isn't fair. Start over next season.
if they did, that would be a winning season for the Flyers |

A Mike Keenan story about when he coached a young Thornton with the Bruins: "I look at Joe Thornton, who has like 5 pounds of fat in his belly -- a gut hanging out and he's just a kid -- and I tell him, "Joe, I want you to get on the bike." He said, "For how long?" I said, "I'll come get you." Well, I went back to my office and I had a few things to tend to. I forgot all about Joe. About 90 minutes go by. A trainer knocks on the door and he says, "Joe wants to know if he can get off the bike now. He said his butt is getting sore." - bmeltzer
Very funny Thanks for sharing.

Every team knew that was a possiblity going in. Sucks but they aren’t going to throw away millions in ad revenue so the Nucks can feel better about themselves. |

Strange to see Jeff Carter in a Penguins jersey. 🤮🤧 - Landsbergfan
He'll probably have a goal tonight, maybe even a hat trick. It always seems to work out that way with ex Flyers coming back to haunt them.

Thornton's leadership went way beyond setting an example. He's supposedly the best dude ever, super thoughtful teammate.
Brendan Dillon had a couple cool stories about how good Joe was to him after he just got traded there and didn't really know anybody. Not only did he bend over backwards to include Dillon, he befriended his parents as well and brought half the team over to Dillon's parents for dinner lol. - Tomahawk
Yes. Dillon told that story on the Spittin Chiclets podcast. That was a great interview.
They just dropped the Dale Weiss interview Tuesday which was really good, as well. Great insight into how so many players have to fight year after year just to stay in the NHL and what they go through to do it. He mentioned how, under Hakstol's tenure, there seemed to be no accountability to anyone on the team from the coach and how that turned what should have been a good year into a bad year. Maybe some things haven't changed. |

If the Canucks want to get back in to their winning ways, they should schedule a couple of games against the Flyers. |

Allison debut tonight? Yeah not enough to move needle to get me to watch. I’ll check in for comments when we’re down 3or 4 goals |

Penguins: 27 13 2 56 pts
Flyers: 19 17 6 44 pts
So if the Flyers have a better roster, why are they 12 points behind the Penguins? This in the end is the only stat that matters.

I was going to watch the next train wreck anyway, however knowing Allison is playing will give me that much more incentive to watch. I hope he does well and makes an impact! Believe it or not, I am really tired of bashing Hextall draft picks, it would be nice to celebrate one now and then.

I am not surprised you would dissent. Which is one reason why I feel you are actually Canadian.
Back in the day, when the wind and sun of youth were on my face, when I was no more than a voyeur of the machinery of life, I thought differently too. Then data started to pile up, the more I read about very successful people: Dylan, Einstein, Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Zuckerberg, Michael Jordan, Clinton, Reagan, Trump and on and on and on. Those second hand bits of data found instantiation in my personal life as well, when I saw very successful people up close.
There are only a few guys I can think of who are/were very successful and also large hearted (outside the strange phenomenon of Hockey and Canadian culture). |

My worse nightmare. Tonight I asked my son if he wanted to watch the flyers tonight. It’s boys night. He said “Dad the flyers suck, can we watch the leafs” my son is 7 and it killed me he said that. |
