I doubt Stan can move Zadorov. Earlier this year I thought Janmark could get a 2nd or 3rd. But not now. Maybe a 4th or 5th for Janmark and Soderberg. DeHaan and Delia finish their contracts as Hawks. Connolly plays on the 3rd line next year and has a minor resurgence. Hawks are in playoff race and keep him.

I'm not going to speculate on who may be traded today. Never underestimate what a desperate GM will give to make it look like they are improving their team for a cup run. If 2 or 3 teams are looking at Janmark, Stan may get a lot more than we think.

As for the game, Columbus has traded away a few of their good players and also has some injuries. I will be really disappointed if the Hawks have another terrible start. Put in a couple early against a team reeling.

On the rumor board, Winnipeg is looking to get Ekholm from Nashville. That would be huge for the Hawks. That guy is a pain to play against. The Hawks need to win the next 3 and then find a way to take 2 of 3 from Nashville because then they play 6 against the teams playing for the division title after that. Not saying all that is going to happen, but that's what needs to happen.

If Zadorov is traded today for a draft choice or prospect, the players may feel that the GM is conceeding no expectation for making the playoffs.

Or that he's a good GM and doing his job.

I'm pretty sure all the players know the situation. They are a bit more informed than posters here, believe it or not.

I would even wager that when Stan signed most of these guys, he told the agents he may move them at the TDL for picks, and will try and get them to cup contender.

Great job Theo!
I am going to play devil's advocate and say that the Hawks trade the following players:
Calvin DeHaan, Dylan Strome, David Kampf, Ryan Carpenter and Adam Boqvist. Yes, I said Boqvist and Strome! Strike while the iron is hot!!!! The Hawks have a ton of defensive depth and Boqvist will fetch the maximum value possible. Strome will bring back good futures as well. The Hawks have MANY younger players that will meet or exceed what Carpenter and Kampf do. Give them a chance! If Janmark gets traded today as well, the Hawks will net themselves a load of GREAT FUTURES. Combine that with the cap space, the Hawks COULD re-emerge as a Cup contender (especially WHEN Colliton gets fired) again.

Don't really have any issue with who you suggest being traded except Boqvist. Futures are nice but actual players are better, and Boqvist looks like he's developing into something special.

Boqvist is not going anywhere, he’s currently our best defenseman and is only 20 years old, we would never get what he’s worth back. The others mentioned can go ASAP, but again a hurt and injury prone Dman making $4.5M is almost impossible to trade, but hey, I’d take it.

Boqvist: good idea - trade a top-10 pick who is progressing and playing like his future justifies his being a top-10 pick for -what - another first round pick, meaning you have to start all over again with an unproven rookie?

“WHEN Colliton gets fired” - I’ve been consistent in saying that Colliton is probably a very good development coach who has yet to prove his value as a coach of a Cup-worthy team - but you’ve apparently alreadymade that decision, based on - well, I’m not sure what. I was not happy with his being the Q-replacement at the time, but I’ve seen good things from him, especially this season, along with some that definitely need improvement. Let’s see if he can develop himself as a winning coach while he’s developing the young players.

The rest of your recommendations - ok, even Strome, depending on the return - and I think your belief that “Strome will bring back good futures as well” is a little bit optimistic - if he’s worth multiple good futures (your comment), he may be worth keeping; if he’s not worth keeping, he won’t bring back multiple good futures.

Other than Boqvist and Strome, the rest are replaceable JAGs.

i wouldn't call a boatload of 5th-7th round draft choices (excluding Bovquist who will NOT be traded) a load of great futures. You are just playing the lotto.

Calvin de Haan is dealt for a 4th round pick by the 2022 TDL.
Alex Nylander also becomes trade bait if he shows no improvement after returning from knee surgery and getting re-signed.

- TheoFox

If deHaan isn't protected, I see no reason why the Seattle Kraken don't take him for all he brings.
If the Karken hawks make another side deal and he stays, sure, I agree, but a lot could happen prior.

If the do protect Alex Nylander (which to me, with the new additions, will add pressure on the 'other brother" to come in hungry to be a player) which I predict they will do, and he poops the bed, there will hardly be any market of interested NHL clubs.

It would be difficult to even consider him as an equal of the Hawk boards opinion of Dylan Strome., so I wouldn't look at his subtract as a chance to get a chance at an addition b y way of draft pick...

If Da Haan was on somebodies radar for the TDL, he wouldn't of played against Columbus like Janmark.

So where does it end? In a couple of years the players you drafted because you cough cough wanted to draft better players are taking time to develop again you trade those players away? Reichel comes in and struggles you ship him off? Isn't this just kicking the can down the road. I guess i view things differently I'd rather the prospects we draft, trade for and develop either succeed with the franchise or fail, fearing the failure of prospects i believe does way more damage to a franchise especially if those traded players become impact players in the league

I'll add there were many in this board upset with DCats play last year, and if the Hawks traded him, holy poop this board would be going crazy this year.

The only way Boqvist gets traded which I floated last week is if a real body who plays Forward, young, healthy, no warts and better than a prospect comes back.

Hopefully more than a few teams agree and try to outbid each other for his services.
