there was always a reason for them to lose in the first round, mainly that they couldn't be relied on to defend consistently and they were running into brutal first round matchups. both those issues should be solved this year. it will be either Edmonton or Montreal in the first round. there's no reason for the Leafs to lose to either of those teams. Montreal doesn't have the fire power to break open those tight games, as we saw last night. and Edmonton, even after all these years, is still complete and utter garbage beyond the 2 behemoths. - DoubleDown
The point about TO’s first round matchups is one that’s conveniently forgotten. Leafs were matched up against teams in WSH and BOS that were much more experienced, and well ahead of them in the standings. Leafs had no business taking those BOS teams to 7 games. CLB last year sucked though - no excuse there
No reason Leafs shouldn’t make it out of the North this year. Realistically, a hot goalie is the only thing that might hurt them |

I'd make that, if I could be sure the lobster was super fresh... I'd ditch the crab and shrimp, usually that's filler so you can skimp on the more expensive lobster.

he's on a 5-goal/45-point pace. if we're looking at that as "pretty decent" for him, fair enough, but good god could we lower the standards any more? - DoubleDown

it was all so garlicky that every bite was delicious (i do love me some garlicy food).
we also ordered a pretzel that was so big it came hanging on a hook.
place is called the yard house. s2tp goes to one near his house. good beer, good food. and this place plays classic rock all day long so that was nice. |

I'm not disagreeing completely, but considering he's got 19 apples currently, and they're often of the nice variety, where are you going to get the goals he puts on sticks from, then? Rely completely on the defense? |

You'd like a pasta dish I make... I sautée cremini and baby portobello mushrooms, and shallots in extra virgin olive oil and roasted garlic from roasted garlic confit, season with rosemary, black pepper, and lemon zest. Toss in fresh linguine, a bit of pasta water, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a bunch of freshly shredded Parmesan. Super easy, and tastes amazing. |

The roasted garlic confit is the easiest thing to make, freezes well, and you can make it super easy. Buy one of those containers of already peeled garlic, add enough evoo to cover them plus a couple of inches, and bake at 250F until golden and yummy, about 2 hours. Just try not to eat it all with fresh bread before packaging it, though. |

Seriously though.. That mushroom pasta? Will impress the ladies (or gents, or both...) on a date. Try it yourself, just use a low carb pasta (I've seen quinoa and lentil pasta before) for your dietary needs if you're staying low carb. |

Sorry to break up the female dog-fest, but Drouin has been pretty decent all season. He has a bad game, and all of a sudden it's back to, "He sucks, trade him for a bag of pucks, if you can get that..."
C'mon, guys, we're better than that. - Darksyde
