can't remember if he signed for 5 or 6 years but this is his 4th year in Mtl... after reading what he said about his wrist and not being able to shoot the puck almost a year and a half after the injury, and seeing him on pace for like 7 goals in an 82-game season, that'll be a nice contract to eventually get off the books. - DoubleDown
The day can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned. I’d be content with him just walking and getting nothing for him sadly. The sooner he’s gone the better imo. |

I don't know how feasible this would be... But we need to bring a grinder from Laval...
Not sure which one plays a good physical game...We have enough of Ice Capades on that team... - AllenB
Last thing they need is a grinder, what they need is a pure sniper.... I keep hearing about this American kid, maybe we'll see him soon enough |

Agree to disagree as I'm a big fan of the d core in Colorado - Takemedrunkimhome
Colorado has the D core, their concern is in net. If Grubauer isn't rested, or gets injured, the Avs are toast.

Lol, the lengths some of you guys will go to avoid admitting that the Leafs are the top team in the division. They’ve owned WPG and EDM all year, on the offensive and defensive sides of the puck.
Someone else on this thread cited their dependence on the PP, even though they’ve won six straight with a single PP goal.
Anyways, it was a good game last night. Fairly balanced, but the Leafs simply have more dangerous players. Gallagher would have helped for sure - AxlRose91
Honestly, this is probably one of the more sensible posts I've seen from you. The argument that he's making with Winnipeg is they're more suited to playoff hockey where checking is much tighter. The rest is fair enough. |

Oh I agree. The debate was about which teams have cup worthy d cores and Colorado is right at the top for me with Tampa |

I'm agreeing with you.
I don't think that's ever happened before.
We should celebrate. - Scabeh
Lol, I’m not comfortable with this lack of animosity

Leafs are lucky, their star players are made of glass, 1st round exit, they suck - Not_Yan

Clearly the best team in the division, not 100% sure I would pick them to beat the Jets in a 7 game series though, tough call - obie
I know, I’m terrified regardless of who they’ll play in the first round. Honestly, any series will be a coin flip. I don’t even know who I’d take, given the choice

Best case scenario, Habs sweep them in the first round and you don't have to worry about it anymore |

I actually think the Leafs are our worst matchup in the playoffs.
Edmonton sounds like the best one.
But I reallly want to see a Leafs/Habs series. It would be glorious for entertainement purposes alone. |

They seem to be 60-40 against Montreal and Edmonton. I'd put them 45-55 against Winnipeg. |

there was always a reason for them to lose in the first round, mainly that they couldn't be relied on to defend consistently and they were running into brutal first round matchups. both those issues should be solved this year. it will be either Edmonton or Montreal in the first round. there's no reason for the Leafs to lose to either of those teams. Montreal doesn't have the fire power to break open those tight games, as we saw last night. and Edmonton, even after all these years, is still complete and utter garbage beyond the 2 behemoths.

Here's how I would roll the lines tonight.
Tatar-Danault-Perry
Toffoli-KK-Anderson
Drouin-Suzuki-Staal
Byron-Evans-Lehkonen
I feel Perry's role is the closest Gallagher clone we have and should help that line.
KK thrives best with fast player (Anderson) and they can both give strong forcheck so Toffoli can read the play and create turnovers.
You give Suzuki another centre to help with faceoffs and give them a bigger player to fight along the boards. Hopefully Drouin/Suzuki find back some of that chemistry from before.
The 4th line is... well the 3 other guys who can play well enough.
At least that's my opinion. - Scabeh
I'm not done with KK on RW, it was only a game and I like the idea for now
Staal will remain a Center i'm pretty sure and I would seperate Suz and Drouin
Something like
Tatar-Danault-KK
Toffoli-Suzuki-Anderson
Drouin-Staal-Perry
Byron-Evans-Lehkonen

Sorry to break up the female dog-fest, but Drouin has been pretty decent all season. He has a bad game, and all of a sudden it's back to, "He sucks, trade him for a bag of pucks, if you can get that..."
C'mon, guys, we're better than that. |

he's on a 5-goal/45-point pace. if we're looking at that as "pretty decent" for him, fair enough, but good god could we lower the standards any more? |
