Hello panthers fans, some of us in the Calgary thread were discussing monahan’s trade value. Assuming he does become available do you guys see the panthers interested in him or are they fine with running wennberg in the 2C slot until Lundell is ready?

Small sample size but i watched calgary toronto game and he was invisible. Dont hear much about him anymore trade value im sure is a 2nd rd pick at max

Hey, RedC21. Thanks for chiming in. Monahan is cool, but with the way Wennberg has been playing/fitting in at Florida, I would like to keep him.

Id send driedger packing if some team would take yandle. Get his tortoise ass off of the powerplay!!!

Thanks for the response Matt. While I’m higher on him than an earlier commenter I don’t think there’s going to be the demand for 2C’s this summer that there has been in the past. At least there’s not too many fringe-contending teams with a hole in the position, I thought the panthers might be a fit but like the rest of the team wennberg has had a career year thus far.

Yes, the Panthers have had a great season thus far and I think you’re right about the 2C holes around the league. There doesn’t seem to be too much of a demand for it - which is kind of odd because I feel like teams are always needing to get stronger down the middle.

I haven’t paid a lot of attention to the North Division, but it seems like Lucic has made a lot for himself in Calgary, no?

Like the player, hate the contract. When looch came in I think many flames fans were realistic with our expectations, essentially he’s an extremely overpaid version of Kyle Clifford/Ryan Reaves. He brings a skill set that many teams like to have at least one of somewhere in there bottom six.

Unfortunately he is about as skilled as your average 4th liner which leads you to seeing him making occasional turnovers but overall there’s no one really threatening his spot in the lineup because of what he does bring.

I hear ya about Yandle, but Driedger needs to stay thru the season. Whatever happens this offseason with him happens. Ride this wave all the way
As much as to compensate for losing Ekblad, Q is dressing 7D to be able to hide Yandle 5v5, something is gonna have to give. 2nd game out of college Kiersted played more 5v5 than Yandle late in yesterday’s game.
