Nice wrap up, Jan. Nice to have you back for a bit.
Yes, we will carry the blog, in the fashion that only we can!

Btw, I believe you are missing the words “from Artemi Panarin” in the final sentence of your opening paragraph.

Jan,
I think Kakko deserves a lot of credit with his body work with the puck. A big difference in his ability to create offensive pressure is his ability to use his body to protect the puck and put the puck in a position he can retrieve it. He is learning how to be very difficulty to knock off the puck. Last night was a great example. He was a monster on the puck a lot.

LAF
I think Laf needs credit here for a good growth game. The kid had jump, skated and was shooting the puck. He was very noticeable with puck and create a number of plays. A lot of smart things there for him.

I think this was a definitely kids game. They played really well overall when the Rangers needed them. Very good sign.

Agree on both Kakko and Laf. Saw that in the third when he took by Hathaway and didn't flinch. Laf was more aggressive shooting the puck, I expect a run here soon by him.

Our offense really is scary when everything is running on all cylinders. Top 3 offense in the whole league.

playing with Strome and Panarin, I wish Kakko would just think shoot shoot shoot shoot

everytime he passes up a shot he should have to do 50 pushups like Willie Mays Hayes

Obviously hes not scoring like him, but his body as possession game reminds me so much of Jagr. If that puck was on his stick, you need a mack truck to move him off. Hopefully this strength both literal and physical translates into more zone opportunities.

On LAF, Ive said it before, if you just focus on him in a microscope, he doesnt make many mistakes. He makes the simple, smart play. Unfortunately, there has been 0 consistency for him in linemates and thus no chemistry. Plus hes got Chytil as a center who really isnt a center. All in all, hes not being asked to be a star, hes not asked to carry the weight of the team. I think hes doing a fine job all the while learning the game at an NHL speed.

And it looks like they are learning that they are never out of a game! That is huge.
It's almost like all they needed was a little experience and time to put it together.

Another thing to note with LAF, put yourself in the shoes of any coach in the league. If you had to choose a line to put your best players out against which one would you choose? Guy has been getting to play against a steady flow of NHLs future HOFers. Think about those games against Sid where he held his own.

I would laugh in their faces if the Devils wanted to trade Jack Hughes for Kakko

I switched right to the Devil game after Ranger game was done

Jack Hughes is an absolute tulip on ice, he's a tiny little tulip

I can't believe how big babies the Capitals are. Wilson's meltdown and Ovi's chirping is so hypocritical. Oshie gets cross checked and they freak out? Wilson is the dirtiest player in the game and Oshie is a dirty player as well. I guess they don't like the taste of their own medicine.

Come playoff time, we HAVE to be able to give teams like this a dose.

I cant help but keep looking up Hendrix Lapierre to see what we passed on. The kid has 8g 22a in 19 games in the Q. Smh.

That's where us trading away BL is actually a blessing in disguise. We don't have any lightning rods for penalties anymore outside maybe B Smith. We also can be chippy and do it relatively clean. That's huge.

Not knocking Schneider at all, but its just that were in such a dire need for a C and we passed on what looks like could be a stud.

Best part for me (other than the shot from Georgie!) was watching Lindgren. Ovi is still yapping away and Lindy is just repeating, "Shut up. Shut up."
