Dumba could garner a very good return from Florida right now!
Dumba for Anton Lundell should do it!

Great blog! I have said the same thing since Guerin took over, The rebuild has a solid blueprint and I believe the Wild have the right personnel running It, I hope they don't think they have a legitimate shot at the Kung Flu tournament trophy this season because they don't. The Wild would be silly to go out at the deadline and trade for any player over the age of 24, Wild management should be flipping there pending UFAs for future assets.

HH, not sure if you are serious about that, or just trolling...the more I think about it, the Wild could have their possible #1 and #2 Cs in Rossi and Lundell moving forward with a trade like that. Both turn 20 this fall, so they are definitely young enough. Just wonder how they do on faceoffs. Can see it now for next year, Rossi centering Kaprizov and Zuccarello. And Lundell centering Fiala and Boldy.

Shady, just asking here, but you wouldn't take Barkov for Dumba then? he's 25 right now.

And Dan, I whole heartedly agree, Guerin CANNOT lose focus of what he is trying to build. The Seattle expansion draft does put a pothole in the road that they are on right now. So I am still holding out hope that Suter will be willing to waive his NMC for that draft. If so, as it stands right now, this is my guess as to who is protected for the Seattle draft.

Forwards - Parise, Zuccarello, Fiala, Foligno, Greenway, Eriksson-Ek...and then one of either Hartman or Sturm.

Defense - Brodin, Spurgeon and Dumba (unless Suter doesn't drop NMC)

Goalie - Kahkonen

I suppose you can look at the cap space that would become available if Dumba was taken by Seattle. But I think if the Wild could get a good center for Dumba, it just has to be done.

I saw it some where that Lundell may be available. (From a paid sports writer not a fan) So I threw it out there. But the Panthers need a RD and Dumba could fill that better than Savard. It would also solve the Wild's ex-draft problem with defense protection. But, yes , most GM's don't wanna trade there unproven 1st round picks. Maybe Forsling and a 1st would be more realistic.

Florida would never take Dumba for Barkov straight up, I'm also not sure what Barkov Is making right now but his next deal will be 7 or 8 million annually. QUESTION, What Is trolling? I have been accused of It and I don't even know what It means.

Hey Shady, trolling is posting ridiculous or stupid comments, just to try and get people to argue. Or just to amusing one's self. Come to think of it, did you really not know what it was....or are you just trolling me?

Are you sure they wouldn't right now? Isn't Barkov hurt right now, and Florida has still been winning without him? I think the loss of Ekblad is going to hurt them more, so a move to get a righty Dman is probably in the works. As for the contract, you have to pay for talent, that's the whole idea behind pro sports. As much as you or I may not like that pro athletes are paid ridiculous amounts, the standard has been set. You are not going to be able to have star-studded players for $4-5 mil a year anymore. You should have about 5-6 players who make about 50% of the payroll, with the other 20 players are the other 50%. But if you have 5 guys that are averaging about $8 mil and 20 guys averaging about $2 mil, that its a $80 payroll. That's a VERY simplified way of looking at it, but it's basically how it all works.

As for the Forsling and a 1st....I think the Wild are set with defensemen in the pipeline now, and actually might be trading some out to get some draft capitol, so I don't think the Wild would accept that. They need centers and in a bad way. And a coach who is a faceoff whisperer. And it would be nice to see Boldy in the Wild lineup right away, but like storm88 said, he's starting off in Iowa. Now, if he just completely dominates in his first 8-12 games, I am pretty sure Guerin will have no choice but to bring him up. And depending on what the roster looks like after the trade deadline, they might just have to bring him up anyways.

It's been a long while since we Wild fans have been able to be excited about the young, new talent that is starting to get on the roster. My only fear is people used to talk about the exciting young talent of the Wild's when it was Granlund, Coyle, Neiderreiter and Haula. That didn't pan out so well for the Wild.
