I'm not surprised by the Islanders 2nd quarter season record 11 and 3, It's a good team and why wouldn't It be? Barry Trotz Is the BEST hockey coach on earth.

Hopefully him and another top 6 forward, which might work to our advantage. Losing Lee sucks but there might be a silver lining.
If Lou can shed Leo or Hickeys salary and we can use Lee’s total salary on LTIR ( all needed to be acquired at once to take full advantage of it)we will have enough to address the top 6, d depth and a 3rd line winger.
In any event we need the Cpt back for the POs.

Sure. Kids get some playing time and excel and like you said we add a top 6 fwd and Lee comes back just in time for the playoffs when we don’t have to worry about his cap hit having an impact. If he were a few weeks out from the playoffs and we did acquire someone you can bet your arse lameriello would have him sit even if he were ready till the playoffs started

You just knew the way he went down (and got up) that it was a bad injury. He’s a tough (frank)in dude and is not the type to show any pain or discomfort. Sucks.

Come back strong Captain.

I think I once read that the reason he went so low in the draft was because most thought he would opt to play football.

I remember reading this as well. There was also concern with his skating. A bunch of posters here didn't think he could play with Barzal because he was too slow.
