Bill what’s the inside story with Friedman? The announcers mentioned that he was not “the most popular guy in the locker room”. They were obviously gunning for him tonight and the whole “reason” he was waived seems questionable. Do you have any insight?

I read several times he’s a terrible leader though.

It was a terrible start. Av called a smart timeout to reset. Elliott Was great and generally the team rebounded well. The coots goal was huge. I’d argue solid leadership brought them back.

Honestly, how the fuck would you know? Are you in the dressing room? He may not be the player he once was but I’m sure he’s a helluva leader in the room....but whuddo I know.

One of my few criticisms of AV has been a lack of using a timeout when the team clearly can use a calming presence, Lavy had a knack of waking a team up and changing the tone, Hitch used to yell during timeouts and sometimes wake the team, but AV seemed hesitant to use em. Todays was perfect and the game play after was a complete turnaround, Hoping to see more of that, Even though we're not the youngest team the identity of this group is young and they sure can use a voice now and than.

Great comeback win. Did not see this happening. After the Friedman goal it just seemed like a long night was ahead of us. Kudos to them for not giving up. Loved Giroux’s monster game. who would have thought the new line of Lindblom, G and NAK would get 2 huge goals? I didnt 😬

Hope Myers is ok

While big comeback games like these are exciting, I don't want to see them be a common occurrence. That said, it's a demonstration of what this team is capable of when they go all out to make the effort, and it makes you wish they played like this for their other stinkers that they let get away from them this season.

The really big thing was that pretty much after every goal, they hardly let their foot off the gas to allow Pittsburgh have many big chances to nullify each goal (like they did too many times this year against other teams), although Elliott made some big saves while they mounted their comeback.

Did they mention what kind of injury Myers got that took him out of the game? It took me a while to realize he didn't even come back out for the third. I swore he had a few more shifts in the second after that big hit that left him wincing in pain when he got back to the Flyers bench.

Paging Kevin Hayes. The team that gave you a very healthy contract needs you to show up once in awhile!! I mean, okay, he looked a bit more engaged tonight, but man has he been sleep walking lately. Glad the captain showed up and rescued them from what looked like sure defeat!!

Were you both on prescription drugs at the time? They did play together for three years when Giroux was 20-21-22, Giroux’s first three years in the league, so he could probably tell what he’d be like at 33 years old back then....so there is that.

Somehow I knew this was going to be brought up despite the win. While Hayes deserves criticism for his lack of production for much of season of late, please, just give it a rest until the next game, should it be warranted. It definitely wasn't warranted tonight, as far as I'm concerned. There was nothing wrong with his effort at all in this one. Of course it would be nice to put points on the board, but he along with TK and Laughton gave the Pens fits all night. If they keep it up he and TK are bound to get off the schneid real soon.

-Did someone forget to tell Kevin Hayes there was a game tonight? I’ve seen higher levels of compete in pee-wee hockey. Time for a wake-up call??

-I was pleased to see AV keep Elliot in goal after the timeout. That man battles hard every night and those goals were not on him! Very happy he picked up that W.

-Good on you G... THAT is what leaders do! Roll that into Saturday!

-Really hoping Myers is okay... I don’t think I can watch any more Gus in this lineup. I’ll take Hagg’s grit over that turnover machine any day!

After 3-0, I thought this game was going to get ugly. Great comeback and I'm happy they did it in regulation.

I’m not sure I agree with you on this one. I’m not one who thinks a player needs to score every night to know they are playing good hockey... but the TK who racked up points last year was a guy who wanted the puck on his stick and battled hard to get it when it wasn’t. Remember the TK, who would hold onto the puck and skate circles around the offensive zone until a lane opened up for a pass or shot? That was a confident TK that drove play and zone entries. Unfortunately, we only get to see that version of TK in flashes this year. Just my opinion.
As for Kevin Hayes, we know what kind of difference he can make out on the ice when his effort is there. I need a little more from a $7 million dollar player. I don’t feel that he should be free of criticism until he starts bringing it EVERY night.

Mark is extremely self-confident in his abilities . That can come off as cockiness or arrogance if you haven't proven yourself.

Kevin was a little better last night. Tuesday night he was invisible.

I predict Pens tire of Friedman's histrionics soon.
