Nice, but what about the expansion draft? Leafs would have to leave someone high value unprotected.

Looking like Tortorella will be fired very soon. Possibly tomorrow. Also Kruger on buffalo after being shut out 2 games in a row. And Travis Green

There is no way Philly is involved

They can’t afford to trade a young defenseman back, and if they were to somehow pull it off without Sanheim or Myers leaving, then one of the three is exposed and plucked by Seattle considering Provorov is a lock to stay.

Not gonna happen. Forget Frost. Forget Zamula. Forget York. Definitely forget Konecny. It doesn’t make any sense for them whatsoever.

Remove Montreal because of the 2-week quarantine and the fact they have nothing that anybody wants. Truly.

Liljegren, Holl, conditional 2nd rounder(becomes a first if we make the finals) for Ekholm, 7th rounder
- Gsyms17

Holl? The way he is playing and that contract? He goes nowhere.

The upcoming expansion draft certainly does not help his trade value.

There is everyway Philly is involved. If Fletcher sees this a window to be a contender, then the trade will happen. No matter what you or I think. I would be willing to part with Zamula, Frost and 2nd to get this guy. Him with Provy would be exactly what they need. However, if I am going to get a dman, I am calling Arizona for Niklas Hjalmarsson.

I thought of that and it would definitely make any trade for an additional D a poopty situation. We are already faced with the fact that if we don't protect Holl, he is as good as gone!

Once Lauzon and Grzelyck return there is no need for Boston to go after him or any defense. What Boston needs is a viable second line as Sweeney continues to fail on this front in drafting, free agency and trade.

agreed....Im not sure how anyone who has watched their D this year thinks they wouldn't be interested. Like any trade it depends on the cost.

Minnesota D looking decent right now, plus they don't have enough assets to grab a player of Ekholms caliber without trashing the rebuild they're currently in now... makes zero sense for Minnesota to have any vested interest in a deal right now. Not to mention Suter's contract added to what Ekholm is going to command? No chance. I would imagine most of the Wilds' future dollars are going to be stacked on several wooden pallets for Kiril the thrill's first big contract...

Oh brother. I was going to attempt to explain how absurd that offer is but then smartly thought against it.

Laviolette also referred to Giroux as the "best player in the world" so...you know. Grain of salt.

They’re interested like a shoe salesman is interested in a new Tesla.

Could they make it happen? Maybe. Would it tear them apart very quickly for a few moments of happiness? Uh, yup.

They’re not protecting 4 defensemen.

They’re not giving away a 2nd, Frost, Zamula, etc for a rental. C’mon now. He’s not the guy who puts you over the top.

And if he’s not a rental, then you’ve essentially traded Myers, Frost, Zamula, and a 2nd, because of exposure to Seattle.

It doesn’t make sense.

MTL: Price, Armia, Chiarot, Struble/Norlinder, prospect or 2nd
NSH: Ekholm, Johansen, Rinne

MTL gets a little bit of cap relief, PMD, other C/W and goaler 1B
NSH gets rid of Johansen and Rinne, gets size and potential, plus better goaler behind better defence

The thing is both goalies should waive their NMC.

I’d trade Ellis and Tolvanen for Toronto’s 2nd string AHL goalie, before I’d trade Ekholm away. How the heck is this even a rumor. Somebody take the keys away from Poile, before he wrecks the bus and kills everyone.
