Rangers almost always drafted/ or traded for smaller, talented non physical players.
I was happy the year their equipment manager ran the draft and picked tougher players. Louie Debrusk among them.
Looked to me the Rangers expected Boston to come out banging, and some left their hearts in the locker room. |

End the game going after the guy you had 60 minutes to get and get your ass beat, fitting way to end a putrid effort - KreiderBomb
Thought the same thing, why did Lemieux wait until after the game to go after him? Should have been the next time they were on the ice together. |

Why could be a blessing if they can get him on a discount contract and hope he finds a medium form between how he ended last year and now. He will probably never be that good again but he really can’t be this bad forever. At least I hope not - TPC
Agreed. One extreme to the other from one season to the next. Somewhere in the middle should be the expectation. And if the contract is measured on that, then signing him makes sense for the Rangers. |

What value does he have in a trade right now - TPC
I just can't believe he's this bad though |

Howden needs to be sent to the AHL and we should give Barron a shot. He brings absolutely nothing to the lineup. |

He seems to be skating fine, he gets good shots off, still occasionally has flashes of being the player he was other than on the score sheet, plus it's been long enough and enough players have had covid and come back and been fine the excuse is getting old. He won't shoot this low of a percentage forever, maybe being a contract year is really weighing on him.
What do we think the return on Buchnevich will be? Do we even think they'll move him? I've seen enough of him to know I don't think he should be part of the future and if he can be packaged with picks/prospects to land a center or just sent out for picks/prospects I'd love to watch him leave.

The reality is, this team is just a 500 club, especially without Panarin, Kakko, Chytil, Trouba |

They were playing like a 500 team with those guys it's not wrong to want/expect better when they return . |

The thing that disappoints me the most was the effort or lack of it, I know the bruins were a big part of making them look the poops. I know they aren’t the Friday night team but they are better than today’s game. Just show you want to be a ranger. |

Points in 3 of the last 4 for Laf. That’s probably the only positive I can find from today other than what a bargain Blackwell has been. Nice little steak, definitely makes me feel better about where his game is going. Especially since this is only the tip of the iceberg. Biggest difference I've seen is confidence with the puck, picking his head up, realizing he has time and finding open teammates in good scoring positions. Just please keep Zib away from him. Hopefully Chytil is back next game and they are back on a line together. |

Missing those 3 offensive catalysts makes it very difficult to win/score
People gotta relax about this team and be patient. Enough already. Vin ONLY comes around when they look like poop so he can blah blah blah he’s embarrassed blah blah blah. Worst. Fan. Ever.
They had effort today, not sure what people were watching. Boston is suffocating when they are on their game, that’s what today was. We just beat them 6-2 for (frank)s sake. We aren’t making the playoffs it’s a forgone conclusion and that’s actually ok. It’s a bummer yea, but this season is so whacky in so many ways I’m like whatever at this point. In the long run this season will be a blessing. They are playing playoff games every night essentially so that’s very valuable for them. Learning to play in these types of games |

Agree with your point, but the lack of heart...toughness answer to running our goalie bothers me .

No one even mentions the job they did containing the Bergeron line over 4 games for the most part. 2 of the games they got nothing except a goal when we were up 6-1. There are positives to this season, takes a little work to find them |

All true --- but this team is going NOWHERE if Zibby doesn't find his game soon. He doesn't have to be our best player, but he can't be invisible/incompetent every game... |

They’re gonna find a way to get Eichel, and Zib will probably leave via UFA. To me it looks like Zib can’t handle the pressure of leading a team in the big city. He has stone hands all season and playing very passive is the best way to describe him I think. As far as Eichel, they have a about a year to decide if Zib is the number one center or not. If he isn’t, they swoop and get Eichel. Eichel is fed up being up there |

I might be in the minority here but hard pass on Eichel bc of that contract, not bc of the player he is. You can’t have multiple 10+ million players on a team or else you turn out like TOR. |

Chicago did it. Pittsburgh. He’s the perfect fit. Sabres are gonna be wallowing in last place for years. Skinners contract kills them
Toronto is the best team in the league btw 😂 |

Pitt and CHI did it but also didn’t have LAF/Kakko coming up a few years later to get paid, they WERE their 11 million dollar players. Let’s see how long TOR lasts, and similar to the LAF/Kakko thing, there’s constant talk they won’t be able to keep Marner or Nylander, that’s the talk we’ll be having about being able to keep both LAF and Kakko |

I think the hope would be that LAF and Kakko would get bridge deals which would take them beyond the Eichel contract or pretty damn close to it. I think that contract wise the Rangers are actually is good shape as you have to thing the players like Buch and Strome are expendable if the younger players surpass them on the depth chart. |
