Although I wasn't on this site, at the time of the Loui signing( or maybe I was, it seems like that signing was forever ago), I was on several other sites , explaining to fans ,before he was signed, that Loui was a coat-tail rider and was not anywhere near what people were expecting him to be.
Needless to say, most thought I was out to lunch, which can be a fair assessment, if I am joking around, but on this case I wasn't and presented some good arguments.
Lo and behold, the analytic community gang effed me about everything and all I said was Loui is not fast enough to be a part of the Sedin line and contribute in a positive fashion.
When I showed certain stats with speedy players vs slower players, which most analytical guys have never heard of, they were pretty pissy with me.
They also really hate when you show success of a physical player with an analytical dream player/s vs another analytical dream player.

I will have fun reading the comments from the analytics crew, in the morning.šŸ˜

Although you have some good points, you do realize you are a drama type persona, with a lack of credibility with us knowledgeable hockey fans, right?
Remember when we beat you in 1988

Neither do I, it was 1994 and no one else remembers the losers.

Just reading Jason Botchford articles from 2016 in the Vancouver Province.

Eriksson will almost guarantee the Sedins will sign an extension.
Eriksson will bring the scoring fans should be excited.
Eriksson will help the Canucks move on from much sought after Lucic but should try to sign Brouwer maybe in a trade.

Good times.

Mini...
Don't you dare criticize Schmidt, he was a great acquisition and not only did the team get him at just under 6million(5,95) they gave up a 3rd round pick.
Ya, I take Myers all day at that cost. Both are 3/4 defenseman. Imo

- Reubenkincade

I trust your judgements on defencemen a little bit less than Benning's

One thing we have should have learned from 2016 2018 and 2019 is that signing players that are approaching 30 or older long term is a very stupid idea.

So even though Tanev and Marky were our UFAs and I guess technically Toffoli , signing them long term is stupid and fans need to get over it.

Of all the things wrong with this team, why does Schmidt anger you so much? You just called him a #4 D so was the cost of a 3rd a bad price? (frank) no. Itā€™s worth at least a first. Surely you know that. So just donā€™t like his contract. There are at least 10 worse contracts on the team worth female doging about
- CanuckDon

It's not really Schmidt's fault that the team is poop and the players he has to play with are poop.

There are lots of players past 30 that still have lots of good years left in them. Just not the ones that JB signs

This was not only directed at JB . I think Lucic Neal and just about everyone else signed in 2016 turned out bad.

There are probably a few that have turned out good but far more bad ones for all teams

Thatcher Demko has a .913 SV% over his last 11 games while facing an average of 31 shots per game.

He's clearly not the issue and should be rolled out there most nights

One thing I noticed on the JTM feature about him being competitive was when him and Brock got back to the bench and they both lashed out at each other. I seen another time last year also. I am not saying there is something there but I am not saying there isn't something there either.

I still think the main issue falls on the coaching in so many ways. It is horrible , but there also are other issues.

I think the main issue falls on losing. No one is happy when they're losing. Like the intermission pointed out the other night, JTM was pouty (like Kes) last year when they were winning... losing just makes it worse.

Not sure how coaches would help players not yell at each other? If there's drama that needs to be stamped out as a team, coaches included.

Two separate issues. Coaching is the main issue. Predictable PPs . Time management . Having wrong players out for situations that require a certain type of player.

I haven't seen a consistent period of time where there is a man in front of the net.

Their plays are designed to shoot from a longer distance with no one trying to screen the goalie.

Travis's style is dump the puck in and chase it hard . That is ABC coaching. Need something a little better now.

Not sure if this has been brought up but Julien was the Boston coach in 10-11

Morning Rueby

I donā€™t hate Schmidt like you, but more do I love him. As Don points out, a 3rd for a top 4 D is a decent price, even if he is paid like a top 2 - but I guess is he? I dislike Myers not because he canā€™t play, but like Schmidt, heā€™s overpaid for what he is capable of contributing. The two of them are now reasons why the team wonā€™t be able to sign other (better) players.

Ok, youā€™ve convinced me, I hate Schmidt now too

Coaching?

The coach plays a system that exposes his coaching.

Thatā€™s inception worthy.

I havenā€™t been paying particular attention, but they kind of lineup with the net front guy behind/beside the net (Boeser in the past) and the other guy in the high slot for the one timer (Bo). The Boeser is supposed to (I think) come out to screen when the puck goes to the point and shift back down to set up the Bo play when it comes to Miller on the boards.

Good on you. If Benningā€™s still around to start next season Iā€™ll make a donation. I might even find a way to send a bottle your way.

Sounds good and vice versa if Benning is gone. Although my wine recommendation would pale in comparison with yours lol

Iā€™m no longer a Benning Bro but itā€™s undeniable he has restocked the prospect cupboards and made some excellent trades during his time here. Heā€™s definitely in the discussion for best GM ever - along with Quinn and Burke.
