Our 3rd line is our 4th line....we have two 4th lines a third line and no second line...worst special teams in the league below %.900 save percentage....
- Malkin

I will say that our save percentage is not indicative of Jarry’s current game stealing level of play.

He has played better but if we get average goaltending and average special teams we are in 1st. He did let up a softy tonight.

Special teams concern me far more than the goaltending

And had like five or six saves that looked like gimme goals. We weren’t in this game without Jarry tonight and he’s been the main reason we won at least two games in the past month and hasn’t been the reason we’ve lost within that time frame.

I will try and re-watch the game. I saw they finally slipped POJ and Pettersson. How did that work out?

POJ really benefited. Pettersson did not.

POJ still looking like an awkward rookie after a strong start to the season, but that's to be expected. Petts on the other hand...

That's not right at all.

Next eight games: NYI, PHI, PHI, PHI, NYR, NYR, BUF, BUF

I saw the one goal, and I only saw the highlite so it might of been out of context for me but it looks like he’s starting to cheat towards the guy right in front of him

I’m pretty concerned that Dumoulin was bad after returning from injury last season, came into this season bad, and now has been out forever. It’s highly probable that he’ll be bad when he gets back, and if that’s the case we have no answer at 1LD despite having a million LDs.

Well that blows. Hopefully Dumo gets back soon. The fancy stats show Matheson had a pretty strong game with Marino. Does that translate to the eye test?

Yeah, I have no complaints about Jarry. I also reject the claim that he gave up a softie - I assume that was in reference to the near post goal which I'm pretty sure was deflected (not to mention Lee is on the doorstep with zero resistance).

If only there was a way to help out Jarry with the guy right in front of him...

Honestly didn’t notice the pairing much this game, which is always a good thing when talking about blue liners.

They were collapsing and boxing out well for a few games there. Coaches need to do there job and reinforce this

Matheson is still playing solid. Sometimes some turnovers but that comes with the game he plays. He makes things happen offensively and really isn't that bad in his own end.

Definitely going to be interesting to see how things shake out.
