Loui Eriksson is available to help your forward depth. - DrunkenCanuck
How is he still in the league? What is he, 50 years old? |

That would be a criminal overpay. Our top prospect and our highest pick in this draft for a softie who hasn't done anything in the NHL? I'd try him as a rental for a 3rd rounder maybe.
And you chirp my trade ideas!?!? As others have said, if you are trading with the Devils, Palmeri is the guy to get (though I still wouldn't give up that much). - MacPatty
Listen dingbat, I was literally asking everyone their opinion because I admittedly wasn’t sure. I wasn’t just vomiting nonsense. |

I think right now especially is a hard time to gauge what a players worth because, Tyler Johnson for example, is worth just getting him off the cap. Nate Schmidt another example. And there’s a lot of teams who prob feel the same.

The market is so hard to gauge, but also knowing what the plan is for certain teams. No idea what NJ's plan is right now. Same with teams like ANA, AZ and NSH. Are they thinking rebuild? retool? buy?
I have no idea what Gusev's value is. I'm not sure what is too much or too little. I'm willing to offer more for players that will extend. |

So the Kings are looking for a young LHD and are apparently willing to part with one of their top young forward prospects. POJ of the Pens was mentioned in the rumor.
And they have some great prospects...
Villardi
Byfield
Turcotte
Kupari
Kaliyev
I love POJ but given the Pens depth at LD I think you'd have to consider what you could work out with them.
Turcotte or Kupari and Kaliyev for POJ and Legare? Basically the Pens give up an A+ and a B prospect for two A prospects.
If Petterson was young enough for them I'd flip him for Kupari in a heartbeat.
I wouldn’t trade PO Joseph but Pettersson for sure. I’d do that in a heartbeat. - Barnaby36
Imagine not wanting to trade POJ in a trade LA would never do anyways lmao |

Like if POJ is an A+ prospect Turcotte is generational. |

Totally understand. That’s why I almost never propose a trade because I’m just gonna look like a homer. Haha |

Just have to go off previous trades. Gusev will probably be worth something similar to Namestnikov. Maybe a tad more so like a 3rd. |

Maybe a smidge more but not much extra unless it’s a top tier player. Gusev will probably end up in Tampa for cheap to play with his buddy Kucherov and put up 70 assists. |

A kid who is 21 years old and is holding down top 4 minutes is a pretty damn good prospect. That's why the Kings were mentioned as interested in him.
Turcotte is a great prospect also but he is only a year younger and can't crack the NHL yet as a forward. I think LA would make the trade straight up. |

Why the infatuation with Gusev? I really don't get it. He flashed in the KHL and had a good Olympics but reality is that he is a poor man's Kessel. As bad at 2 way hockey but not as good of a scorer.
Don't get me wrong, I'd take a 3rd round flyer on him as a rental, but what has he done that would make you want to sign and trade??? I think he is worth more as a rental than he would be with another 3-4 years on his contract. |

He had a really good season last year on a bad Devils team as a scoring forward which is what we need. He’s having a dog poop season this year. It’s an optimal buy low situation for a team that desperately needs offensive difference makers for extremely cheap given our nonexistent assets. |

I wanted to trade him in the offseason after the cup, so I know what Kessel is. The Pens got an A+ prospect for him and they currently have Zucker on IR (likely to be ready for the playoffs) so cap isn't an issue until next season when the Pens likely move a LD. I'm not saying it is the best thing they could do but it would help them improve in their biggest need, relatively cheaply.
Not everyone has to wear long pants, if you can create offence in the bottom 6 you get a pass. You can't be vanilla like Jank and Sceivour and have short pants. Didn't Burke pay a fortune to trade for Kessel back in the day?
Per your choices, could go either way. I'll say Zuck, POJ and MM but it's an incomplete scenario. Kessel and Horny should have a pick with them which would even it out. MM is a big question mark. - MacPatty
Kessel definitely wears short pants and at this stage of in his career he is overpaid and not very good at even strength for what he is being paid. Also, hextal was recently interviewed on wpxi and stated that if an enforcer comes available that can play on the 4th line he would be interested... |

First off no. Second off POJ is from the 2017 draft and Turcotte is from the 2019 draft. So that’s 2 years apart. |
