Tage Thompson has more high danger chances for (iHDCF) at 5v5 than Victor Olofsson this season

Tage Thompson has played 9 games

- sbroads24

That's actually not surprising. While Tage looks like a newborn on skates at times he has found himself in the slot plenty of times. Hitting the net is the problem.

Yeah, he would have been nice
- Buff36

Go after Shaq Barrett or Bud Dupree then
We need a pass rusher more than a LB imo
Barrett can even play LB & be a good pass rusher

Yes it is, but this Organization hasn't proved that they could.
- Buff36

U keep moving the goalposts

ROR would fit under the Cap with Hall
And the organization is proving to fit Skinner & Hall,
so there’s no reason to think they couldn’t have fit O’Reilly & Hall

And I’m sure the Sabres would choose Skinner over the scrubs we’d need to do without for him to fit as well
But even if they couldn’t fit Skinner,
I’d bet A LOT of ppl would think that’s a good thing

Tage would easily have a dozen goals if he was given olofsson's opportunities on the pp.

Most/ if not all of olofsson's goals and points
have been lucky.

I'd move olofsson yesterday for the 7th rounder we wasted on him

He'd have a dozen goals if he had olofsson's accuracy. Getting open looks has never been his problem.

More mentions of the ROR trade ? OK, why not. I read the "he wanted out" statements a couple pages back. It's pretty awesome that we have people here - in this very blog ! that are personal friends with Ryan O'Reilly and know this information for a fact - and are willing to blab about it here ! Oh, maybe I have that wrong. It's so excellent that people in here were the actual GM of the Sabres during that period of time, and are posting what they personally heard from ROR.

I guess if you say it enough times, you believe it's real. Kind of like "the election was stolen".

Face it. It was a stupid, unnecessary trade that didn't have to be made, and we're still paying for it.

“You all” is a generalized term
I didn’t remember how u specifically felt about ROR

Just drawing from your point that all the idiots freaked out about him
And now all the idiots are freaking out about Jack
And how dumb that is
You build around your best players, you don’t ship them out bc they’re upset about losing
They should be upset about that

U don’t have to take everything so personally

- jdfitz77

The best part about this deal is that it sounds like it's not an exclusive rights deal.

I'd like to see FOX/FS1 get the other piece of it.

I agree

But MANY here wanted it to happen AND were happy with the crap return

Also... my posting about what happened with ROR isn’t really me still crying that he’s gone
What I’m trying to say,
is that we shouldn’t make the same mistake with Jack
Hopefully we learned our lesson from the terrible ROR trade

1- again, that’s what YOU are inferring
None of us KNOW how he actually felt

2- again, missing the point

Happy Gilmore had a hell of a shot too. Doesn't matter how good you are in getting to the soft areas if you can't actually do anything.

Absolutely, i wasn't killing him (although everyone knew that murphy was shot). Just wistfully wishing we had some of that money back but hindsight is easy.
- Slump Buster

Oh yea I know you weren’t. Just wanted to thrown some props beaners way. Yea Murphy was a surprise. Everyone knew he should of been cut. Think that might of been a “team” move.

Dont throw epinesa to the wolfs and let him learn behind a vet. Didnt take long to figure out that was a ooops.

Think beaner is gonna have a solid draft. Hope he goes best player available. In no specific order would hope he goes......

OT
LB
DT/DE
TE
CB

Wouldn't mind if he trades up for 5 guys he feels best about. We got alot of players ( precious draft picks )in the system we are training up and hope to step in at some point so get the 4-5 guys you feel best about. In mcbean I trust!

That’s what’s been predicted for a while now

Good for hockey

It's better for hockey but I bet the NHL is getting it for free or pretty close to it. If memory serves me the league went to NBC because the NHL wasn't going to pay anything. Why would they? No ratings.

That said, it's a good thing for fans.

Well sure
If we got back Crosby, then who gives a crap about ROR

But with the Pegulas not wanting to pay the bonus he was due,
getting a good return seemed to have flown right out the window

Should’ve just kept him, but oh well- sh!t happens

$200 million for a pro sports league is a bargain, which was what NBC got the last one for. ESPN won't be paying is much for this deal since there is supposed to be another network involved, but the total dollars coming in between ESPN and the other network will likely be higher.
