I think he's doing damage to Dahlin and Jokiharju every day that he's coach. The sooner he's gone, the better. He is ruining them

Every single player on this team is regressing.
the team for the first time in awhile has a legit top 6. They are worse than the tank team.

If you're going to bash people for their reading comprehension, at least have some yourself.

Some interviewed were employed at the time.

All it really comes down to is hire someone that can hire the right people. It's obvious that you can't do that for your Hockey Team. Complain all they want about losing money, your the one's that helped cause that.

Regardless of that, I actually do think the Pegulas mean well, or at least I still want to.

I think this is more of a case of "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" than the Pegulas being terrible people. Either way, they need to have the humility to realize they don't know what they're doing on the hockey side, just like they were essentially told on the football side.

There just needs to be a reset (again). One that involves them publicly stating they are not going to be involved with the running of the organization. Just to get the fans behind them, we've hired X (someone like Lou Lamoriello) and differ all questions to them.

You don't get to try and take an active role, and then throw your underlings out there when things go bad. You're either active or not. You don't get to be active when things are going well, that's easy.

Depending how you define that. They want to succeed, yes. Just like everyone wants success. But they're not willing to do the things necessary to get there because they:

a.) Don't trust anyone
b.) Cannot handle criticism
c ) don't want outside advice - see a.

I know a lot of leaders that fit that bill. They have good intentions, they just aren't effective leaders.

There is a difference in meaning well and doing well. That's the current problem.

I still struggle with that because I think if you're truly meaning well, that means looking in the mirror and asking "what am I doing wrong?" Which after 10 years, they absolutely need to do. And the answer to that is to relinquish control to knowledgeable hockey people, which they haven't done since the failed Patty Lala fiasco 10 years ago, or I guess Brandon Beane and Ted Black, but neither of them were hockey people.

Meaning well has to include acknowledging mistakes and fixing them

Meaning well - spending ridiculous amounts of money on a losing product. The Sabres cost them millions.

Meaning well - they have tried different approaches. They need hire the right people next time.

I'd say they need to either bring in a managing partner or a president who is willing to challenge them on their decision making.

I don't think they're willing to have their authority or their view points challenged. Frankly I don't think they ever will. As long as theirs is the only view point, this goes nowhere

Adding to @reporterchris note: potential changes won't take effect until 2022 Draft, and previous lottery victories will not count towards a team's total.

The NHL is proposing changes to the draft lottery that would see:

* teams limited to no more than two lottery wins in a five-year period
* teams only allowed to jump 10 spots with a lottery win
* a reduction in the number of picks decided by lottery from three to two
Elliotte Friedman
@FriedgeHNIC
Excuse me, three picks down to two decided by a lottery is this year....rest is 2022.

Probably nets-out to a wash when you consider the increase in franchise value...and probably will increase significantly in a couple years after this BS is behind them.

I have no sympathy for them, they'll be just fine.

President Ted Black used to go on the radio and take calls from fans. He actually gave out his email address.
