(frank)ing retards won't get "probably not Alexis Lafreniere, Kaapo Kakko, Adam Fox, or Quinton Byfield),probably not Alexis Lafreniere, Kaapo Kakko, Adam Fox, or Quinton Byfield)"

Then he won't be be moved

It would be a tough negotiation for sure.
To me, this topic is by far the most interesting on this board.
Next comes the Organizational Structure
Unfortunately, both are long, long shots to occur.

Any thoughts, really hope it doesn't come down to this.

I think each of those trades needs to be looked at in a vacuum. For example, we get a LOT more for ROR if they pay the bonus. Also, some of these are just plain bad trades. Everyone laughed at the return for Hall.

I also disagree with some of the other statements. Adam Fox is too high of a return? C'mon. And he argues that Eichel's contract will make him somewhat unattractive - 10 mill for an elite young signed center is pretty good value, especially when you consider we would probably have to take some back.

Hopefully it never comes to this.

If you don’t get one potential stud back you don’t move him. You can’t trade him for just a plethora of unknown assets.

You need a teams best prospect and probably a teams young up and comer. And they need to take skinner too.

- Fattony1187

That would be very complicated to execute, IMO.
I get the sentiment in spades of moving out a bad contract.
But for me, a uncompromisable principle I would have would be not to take a bad contract back.
Therefore, it serves only to reduce the trade value back which would be devastating.

Like you said hopefully it doesn't come down to it, but it something that would need to happen in the offseason, more teams could get involved and hopefully drive up the price.

He also cherry-picked trades. We gave up a TON for Kane and (foolishly) Bogo. We paid a pretty steep price for ROR. Dubois just got a very nice return - they may end up winning that trade.

Exactly, we have another year of so before the no trade becomes an issue.

I'm saying most likely jack waives anyways, if he really hates it here.

Anyone know how many teams on the no trade with eichel before the 2022 season?

Oh TM destroyed us with those trades, we still haven't recovered from them. Just led to vacuum of more trades and giving up assets to bring in players to fill spots that should have been taken by players in are system but there weren't any, plus valuable cap space.

Cap Friendly does not show any type of NMC/NTC modified of not.
I would assume he has none until it kicks in '22-'23

Wonder if Anaheim could be sniffing around again, they lost Lindholm for a couple months.

I don't doubt what the insiders are saying but I still think this gets to the point where Ralphie takes a walks.

They were 1 of the teams sniffing around Eichel. Would people consider a Dahlin trade for say Comtois Lunderstrom+

I think it would be soooo foolish to trade Dahlin under any circumstances. I hope they wait until the next guy comes in - I would think he won't be d first.

Jack with Hall and Cozens today. Cozens is about the only guy with any jump on the team - it should be interesting if he rubs off on Jack.

(I just realized that sounded really bad)

I don't want to either, just looking into certain options. You want to keep Eichel. Who else on the roster gets you the most in a trade.

I would consider it for someone like Byfield.

I think it’s highly unlikely Dahlin ends up not being very, very good, but I think it’s almost as unlikely at this point he becomes generationally great
