Wow Power your family has quite the history, Coppola the former Asst. US Attorney, my Dad worked with him a lot. Former Buffalo Cop, I grew up at the Aud, my dad worked security there and would sneak me in almost every game. I still think a cup will happen too, but know it's like more for my Son, who has grown up during this poop show.

A lot easier to sneak around in the Aud! πŸ˜‚ Lots of dark corners, doors left "ajar", etc πŸ˜‚

And thank you to your dad for his service.

Madden's wasn't available...Sabres sent one late last night...it's broken down on the 190...about 1/2 mile from the garage.

Good stuff Power.
As a young teenager in the early '70's I collected the game day programs myself, they were pretty cool back then.
Big Sabres fan since 1/2 way through their first season...at various times they have made it hard to be positive about the team, but nothing like this last 6 or 7 years.
Yet, I'll watch again today, and then again tomorrow.

- IonSabres

You're so lucky to have witnessed the early days! The "building" of the team by Punch must've been awesome to see. And just the excitement of a young, exciting team.

Sure was. The ramps up to the seats, holding on for dear life walking up to your seat in the oranges. Even the concerts there were awesome.

One of my most vivid memories was the night Gretzky broke Espo's record. Dad managed to score two tickets in the reds for me and my step-mom (he was upstairs), where the Oilers shot twice. Some dude spilled his beer down my step-mom's back when Gretz scored the record breaking goal, just drenched! πŸ˜‚ But no one cared! The place went bonkers for him.

It was like taking your life into your hands walking up those things. The upper deck at old Yankee Stadium had a similar steep incline. And, at that point you're so high up there you know why they call it the nosebleeds.

Wish I'd been able to experience the old Yankee stadium. I've got to get to Fenway one of these days, too.

Unless the upper management structure changes, to include a real president, a real gm, and a real coach. Why bother rebuilding. They will just frank it up. At least jack is sometimes fun to watch.

It was fun, maybe I enjoy watching a GM build a team as much as I do.

Roger Crozier in net was awesome, guys was unbelievable
Of course a young Gilbert
But having Eddie Shack was entertaining too.
The best though to your point was Punch assembling a high energy team that could skate, defend, score, and play physical with Tim Horton, Schony, Korab, Martin, Robert, Luce, Ramsey, Gare....those teams had it all.
Good memories!

It would be nice to give mitts a shot up there. See what the kids got. He’s looked ok the last few games. Throw him in the deep end for a period.

I guess Let Lazar start the game up there. Establish the Larry hockey. And let Mitts take the second. Which ever looked better takes the 3rd.

Seems odd. But it’s the Sabres. We can’t sacrifice defense for offense especially with, I’m guessing, hutton in net.

Any word on skinner?

Fans like to say this...but it won't matter here. We're doomed no matter what. Face it. I've been reduced to "just glad we have a team" and even then, I basically don't give a crap lately.
