Kind of odd that the first person added did not have it, you would think it was all precautionary at this point. Let’s see if the others come off the list.

Thanks Bill. Hopefully some more guys come off the list today. Want to see flyers hockey, but not if half the team is out.

Is this layoff going to help or hurt? JvR was gaining a lot of steam while others really needed to pick up some of the heavy levying. Will JvR cool off. Will others turn it on?

It's nice to see both wisdom and kase having strong starts to their season. Both will be with the orange and black before long.
Imo, this is how you build championship teams. Hitting on late round picks is essential. It reminds me of detroit and all of their late round gems they had when they were a dynasty.
I expect our window to be wide open after the Seattle expansion draft

There will be plenty of opportunity for players like JVR to cool off, which we all know he would have done anyway. However without sufficient practice time and games, there will be little chance we will see this team hit the ice skating when they do make it back.

Regarding league awards , I honestly think they shouldn’t even have them this year. Shortened season where it looks more and more likely no one is going to even play the same amount of games, only playing a certain number of teams. Not sure how you could have an mvp if the entire league in this scenario

That's always my big feet during break like this. Hot streaks tend to end. It even happened to desnoyers when they shut down for covid. It's going to be hard for guys to stay hot when they have to take breaks and sit on their asses at home for a week here and there
What a wild start to this season already

Look at our team last season, we were on fire and then Covid hit

Exactly my point! If that didn't happen last year then we were well on our way to the cup finals. This team was clicking on all cylinders like I haven't seen in over 10 years! Then we lost the mojo we had at the most inopportune time. I see that as being a problem again this season with missing so much time again. It sucks but it's the nature of the beast this year. I don't think we are q cup team this season but after the expansion draft I think things really take off for us. Hopefully G and Jake can play at a high level still in a couple of years.

Maybe the pause will do the opposite this year and we catch fire after this.

It's not like last season where they were had everything clicking and then got derailed by the long stoppage.

Wins/SH% aside, they've been an utter mess this time around. I think the break may help them hit the reset button. They can't keep getting outshot 2:1 for the rest of the season and hope to do anything. Covid or not, their high SH% is unsustainable.

Nope.

Momentum lost.

Mojo gone.

Heat removed.

It's over.

I know the caps game was a mess but they were starting to play better. Specially against Boston. I think it will be good , guys like TK need to clear their heads

Even as well as they were playing at that time, they weren't going to beat TB.

You are most likely correct but we could have caught lightening in a bottle. Just make it to the dance and you have as good of a chance as anybody, right? Hart could have played lights out in the playoffs and we just never know (even though tampa bay was stacked)
Last season is my biggest WHAT IF I have in recent memory.
When do you think our window for contention truly opens? 2 years from now? Next season? The time is almost upon us

For a fact, of course not but I'm pretty confident in saying that.
